What's the silliest thing you've ever done that's lost you money?

Just asking because, I've just realised, todayI've bought a daysaver bus ticket for £4.10, then somehow forgot I just bought a daysaver bus ticket, got off the bus and chucked the ticket in the bin thinking it was just a normal bus ticket!

So, I have paid £4.10 for a bus journey that only costs a pound! How stupid am I?! ::)

A shitty 03 Renault Clio .

Piece of shit car that broke down constantly, cost £700+ to fix within a few months of owning it AND the sunroof fell in on us, literally, you opened it and the glass fell inside the car!

That was about £3000 down the pan

Stupidest thing is probably just putting bets on when I don't have the money to waste! Got out of that habit though thankfully

That's the car I had for about 7 years, sold it on for £700... Probably could have got more for it though - It was a good car I was sad to see it go!

As for me I didn't pay attention to when a 'free' 12 months on home repairs insurance ran out and it renewed automatically at £82 for another year - oops

Im always doing things like that too, paying insurance for phones I don't even have anymore, that sort of thing!

I've just paid £16 for the worst haircut I've ever had! In a bid to save money I went somewhere cheap and they have made a rightmess of it! Too late now but next time iI will save up and treat myself to a haircut at somewhere decent!

I let my home and life insurances roll on and on and on for about ten years before finally checking the price comparison sites and realising I'd spent a fortune compared to what I should have been spending!

Spent allot of money sticking with Virgin Media and having terrible broadband for years instead of moving to someone else.
Now we are with EE have stable and fast broadband and it is allot cheaper. :)

I played a load of free bingo on a site, used the funds in bonus account to play a £1000 game - won it and was told I had breached t&cs

I hadn't spent anything to play the free bingo but I had spent too many hours (by 2!!) over the month on there & so although I never gambled I still technically lost £1,000!

On the plus side that put me off online gambling anyway pretty much and saved me both time and money!!

I paid for Netflix for over 2 years but couldn't work out what email address I'd used to sign up, so couldn't actually access it. Eventually I rung them up and asked what the account was, so I could cancel. I have a new Netflix subscription now, but do actually use it.

I paid £650 for AAT level 2, and read about 10 pages of the first text book.

I renewed car insurance this year at £200 more than last year, because I never got round to sorting out a new policy in time.

There are probably loads more.

I've bought about 4 websites and never used them, I didn't buy them with recurring payments thank god, but every time one ran out, I bought another.

I do now have another one, I just got it all last week and I'm working on it at the moment, so hopefully I'll actually stick to this one!
