What's your mug betting strategy

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to do the daily offers now and just wondering what everyone's views on mug betting is? If all my free bets are loosing into the exchange, then is there any need for me to mug beg? As surely to the bookmaker I am profitable - because to them I am not taking any value? Whereas if I mug bet and win quite a few bets this will look bad, and they could gub my account, as I am taking profit from them?

Just wondering what people's view are, and if they have a strategy they follow?

Thanks

I mug alongside a qualifier...so if there's a bet £10 get £10 at Ladbrokes then I'll do a £10 qualifier and then another £10 mug on another game that day. If my free bet wins then I might do a mug or two, but generally I don't bother.

I think that there are other things to do to appear more of a normal punter, other than mug bets...for example, it can look more muggy to use free bets on accas (there's a spreadsheet on PA/OM to show you how to lay) as they are lower value in the eyes of the bookies, and if there's a 'up to £25 free bet' style offer then I don't always do the full amount - do £10, £20 etc. I give some offers a miss, especially if I've recently hammered the bookies. Another thing is to watch your odds on your free bets, don't go too high, and pick a few teams to loosely follow to appear as though you're just a normal punter backing your own team.

Yes usually one mug bet alongside of your qualifier is a good idea plus not taking every single offer that comes along.
I have still lost Accounts by doing this though so it doesn't always work but can help to keep your Accounts for a longer time.
I found the thing that would get my Account restricted would be if I withdrew money from bookie side (more than £50) so now I just try and avoid doing this by losing into the exchange as much as possible.
If I need to withdraw I keep it to no more than £50 at a time.
Hope that is of some help. [emoji4]

I wouldn't look too much into other people's strategies tbf, cos if a bookie is gonna gub ya, then they're gonna gub ya. They will gub you if they want regardless of if you place mug bets alongside a qualifier, if you use your free bets on accas, or if you withdraw money. I have been gubbed a few times and I ran each account in different ways. The way I see it, is if you go for the draw on say Liverpool v Accrington Stanley just cos the odds of 9 and 9.05 are close on the oddsmatcher, then the bookies are gonna fucking know you're up to something by not betting on Liverpool.

Once you are gubbed, is it possible to get that account back at all?

I don't do much mugging to be honest, apart from the odd slots mugging. I've had more than £15,000 in just 4 months (http://katykicker.com/how-i-made-15000-in-4-months-matched-betting/) the bulk of that from slots (hitting it lucky on bonus offers) so I think it is best to waste the odd £10 here and there. So far I've had one gubbing (Betbright) after ONE offer AND I mugged so I agree with Queen really.

If you do slots then obviously you are going to be profitable in the long term to bookies despite a few winnings obviously long term the bookies gain overall.
Betbright is well known to gub even James who has set up PA has been gubbed by them so that is saying something!
I do tend to do a qualifying offer then another bet alongside it so I am not only doing Promotions especially if I am returning back to the same bookie repeatedly. If it is just one odd offer then I don't bother unless I actually win bookie side.
If it is a refund if so and so happens then I do another bet if I win or if I end up getting the free bet.
Accas are great as you are more likely to lose bookie wise and so can be more profitable to the bookie especially if you lose more than one leg so you don't end up with the refund either.
Mug betting is not going to stop a gubbing if you aren't profitable enough to the bookies.
You and Jon both do ALLOT of slot offers so that is probably why you both haven't got gubbed much. Someone who uses slots and loses loads is profitable long term despite a few winnings here and there so bookies won't restrict those Accounts.
Now I have done all offers and reloads I am doing a few risk free/low risk slot offers so that should help a bit.

Thanks for the replies everyone! [member=117]Blackpepper1[/member] when you mention accas do you mean using your free bet on a acca? If so how many many teams do you use? Thanks

I use Acca Catcher in PA for Acca refunds so if one leg loses you get a refund as a free bet. Then you can stick the free bet on an Acca as a double or treble. Acca Catcher is easy and works out everything for you finding all the matches and telling your Profit and loss etc.
