Are these people trying to help that person or are they just trying to help themselves?

If they weren't all of the MLM ilk would they even care so much about recruitment? If I go to work in a shop I go there to sell the products not constantly recruit everyday so maybe the REAL product in these 'direct selling' companies is the resource.. that's where the money is....

When I worked for AS, recruiting other party planners had its rewards. Its a bit like Roamler - you earn money from the people you recruit, but in AS, if there was say an original leader who had 10 agents, she would make money from all 10. Then if one of those agents branched off with 8 new recruits; she'd earn a smaller % from all them. And on. And on. (And Ariston). So the leaders at the top were driving top of the range Mercs.

Were they REALLY driving those as a direct result of selling dildos and recruiting people for Ann Summers?

Poor woman - getting pounced on by everyone wanting their cut from recruiting her! They're not exactly subtle are they!

It's pretty common on the 'mum' forums and Facebook groups sadly

as soon as they post they get a barrage of direct selling and private PMs to get them to come in under them.

Yup, I tend to leave these threads alone if they have had loads of people trying to poach them because I'm not offering them instant money when I recommend this place, they think that is what I am doing after all those offers ::)

When I had my son, I was pushing him in a pram and 2 women pulled up in a car and tried to recruit me to Avon!

This site is a bloody hard sell once they have been exposed to direct selling with its 'my boss now drives a new Audi and only works 2 hours a month' type mantra

Man alive - that forum is no different to them pulling up their car on your i suppose.

They know Mums will talk to other Mums and therefore are a good recruit

No, they're like vultures as far as I'm concerned.

MLM is terrible, and no amount of sales pitch could ever convince me otherwise. It's brainwashing at it's finest - "But don't you know, our best agents are now making £8000 per month and there's opportunities for more". Of course; that's why you've got 40 "likes" on your MLM page, and 35 of them are family and friends.

Not to mention those "health products" being a load of rubbish - but that's a different conversation, and probably not one for this place.

It all boiled down to having a big team of girls who did tons of parties a week, and obviously your own parties. But, the car could be taken away at any time if you didn't hit the very high sales targets

What they kick you out of the franchise if you don't make the sales targets?

No, but your car is never safe. Probably all changed now

What car?

Like I said, it has probably all changed now, but you started off with a fiesta, and I remember the top organizer driving a top of the range freelander, and the one underneath her driving a merc.

No Jon. You work bloody hard at it and make it become your entire life, make them a shitload of money, THEN you may get a car. The car is only for Unit Organizers though; not party planners.
