Why the struggle to get off your backside and make that first move?

This isn't a TMS thing as such but why is it you can read about a great opportunity and it takes weeks if not months to actually do anything about it

uTest sat there for months before I actually applied - why? It's money!

Is it because these opportunities are generally ALWAYS there so maybe you feel no rush to apply for things

Maybe. Also I think you don't realise how good it is until you see other people getting paid. I know I am allot more careful as to which sites I join and there is so many different ways to earn but only so many hours a day to spend so you end up having to pick and choose.
It is difficult sometimes to get the motivation to go and get started on a site.
Reminds me I still have not got around to doing the test on testbirds yet. :D

I still haven't signed up to testbirds, need to do that - think at the mo for me it's cos I'm trying to start so much at the same time.

I feel like I need to get in on the Leapforce thing but looking at the application I don't think I'm eligible? Plus I'm still not sure what it involves but people seem to be earning decent money from it!

I think it's also to do with need too. For me, the money would be nice to make things a bit easier but it's not essential. Previously I have been ill from not knowing when to stop and although it was 20 years ago, I don't want to go back there!

Basically, now I am just lazy and would prefer to spend time with my dog! :D

In seriousness, I do work two part time jobs which covers my outgoings so any thing extra is a bonus!

It's not just on opportunities to apply for stuff you know

I have a list as long as a very long thing of enhancements I want to make to TMS

That list is 20x longer for the blog side!

slowly slowly catchy monkey

Time.

If you know something works, you'll stick with it and use your time on that instead of investigating these new things. And with something like TMS, you can sit back and watch everyone else investigate before making a move - which in some cases means that you miss out on opportunities.

As for that TMS to do list...I have a notebook and it comes everywhere with me. If I've got 5 minutes of down time at work I'll look through the list and see if anything is a nice, short job and do it. Or I'll check my progress on bigger tasks.

And you can spend a lot of time reading, thinking and learning instead of just doing!

I am the worlds worst procrastinator :D

True. Life does get in the way. Quite a bit. :)

I think you can end up spreading yourself too thin sometimes and get nothing done. I passed the utest test and haven't been back on since.I find it hard to do half an hour of something, and then switch headspace for an hour of something else, .. I do alot of bits and pieces but there is only so much chopping and changing I can do before I get a blank mind.

Like [member=1169]bordercolliefan[/member], I get distracted by the dog too lol

For the past week I have a thing in place where I aim to make £25 a day at least, because that's what I need (anything else is a bonus). Once I have made the £25 I stop for the day - so it's usually an hour of LF and then another couple of hours of something else. I don't feel good sitting on the computer all day, I know I could do alot more, but then you can always do more and I like having the cut off point at the moment as I have other stuff on such as helping an ill friend with her kids, and general household chores, being outside, etc.

[member=1]Jon@TheMoneyShed[/member] a blog or website is never done and it is scarey when you make lists ;D

I keep a diary of upcoming blog posts and ideas and things, been finding it really motivating. Now when i want to procrastinate I try and go to that before playing games and wasting time (during MOnday - Friday at least).

I would love to do utest, leap force etc, but I think you have to be really computer savvy, even the application looks hard ;D. As I work all the time the surveys suit me. I love whatusersdodo but am never around when a test comes through and then it's gone !!

You don't have to be computer savvy to do those things

Computer common sense is all that's needed

sometimes I will faff about most of the day getting not much done, then suddenly click into work mode in the evening and end up staying up til 2 am :D I suppose that's one of the benefits of working from home you can work when you want to work and not just when other people think you should be working :D
