I'm a bit concerned as I opened an account with 21bet, deposited £50 and won a total of £155 which I have tried to withdraw. They have asked for ID in the form of driving licence, bank card, and utility bill, which I have provided. Now they want to phone me for further verification, which I can't do until Thursday. What is that all about? I haven't even taken up one of their offers yet, but reading some posts on the PA site, it seems in the past they've refused to pay out winnings, refunded the initial deposit and closed the account for no apparent reason. If they do that to me I'll be over £100 down. Seems they're happy enough to take your money, though. Anyone got any advice on this, please?

Technically if they did that you'd be back to where you started, minus any qualifying losses.

When I won £8,000 I was paid out the next day with no issues, when I won £3,000 somewhere else I had to do ID and telephone chat to confirm my ID too. And then they sent me 3 x £1000 cheques which I had to cash out each day, was different companies though.

Really angry with these people! They have blocked access to my account, despite the fact I provided them with all the ID they requested. They said they needed to speak to me, I booked a call in for yesterday at 9.30am, which they confirmed - nobody phoned me. I have chased them up today and asked them to call me this morning, nothing. So I have emailed them again asked to call me today as I will not be able to take personal calls at work next week. They only call between 9.30 and 5pm on weekdays, apparently. Not very helpful if you're working.

I've heard nothing, they've got £125 of my money. I don't know what to do. Small claims court, I think, perhaps.

It's disgusting that they were quite happy to take my money and now have left me in limbo because I won a few quid. It wasn't even what I would call a massive win.

Any suggestions anybody? Gratefully received!!

Thanks, Jon, I might have to go down that route.

I've received a call an hour ago after badgering them by email again - the woman asked if it was me, which I confirmed, then the call went dead. Hard to know if it was my mobile signal or if she hung up - I suspect the latter. I tried the number got a message saying Welcome to 21bet, it rang and rang but no answer. I did this twice. I then emailed them again to ask them to call me again but no response as yet. My account is still closed.

I wonder if they wanted to confirm I am female, so just wanted to hear my voice..? Very annoyed with this lot

[member=5720]Dizz[/member] Try tweeting at them and posting on their Facebook walls. Amazing what a bit of bad PR can do to hurry along a complaint.

This is so true.

If you do let us know to RT!

Last year I had 50+ people RT about a lack of water in my building and 3 hours later it was fixed, despite being previously told 3 days!

Hi everyone

Thanks for your help with this. I did eventually get my money back, however they did not call me to verify my ID despite arranging times to do so on three occasions. In the end I got quite snotty as my account had been closed for two weeks with no explanation, I emailed and threatened them with either the small claims court or IBAS. Next day my money was in my account, however the betting account is still closed - which suits me fine as I would not wish to use them again anyway!
