I can believe this... I have 2 asdas near me and could easily womble them every day and get enough to hit 10k over 6 years.. I am nearly there and do 30 mins every other day :)

Think I've read somewhere that you are not allowed to take receipts from the checkouts area. Will see if I can find it, and post back here if I do.

The local supermarkets to me, in the self-service sections, the attendant's primary role is remove receipts/saving vouchers a quickly as possible. This comes above helping customers and even chatting to their colleagues while you wait for them to 'unlock' your bottle of wine.... ::)

It most likely isn't to stop someone else claiming that, but instead just to keep it tidy. Nothing worse than picking crap off the floor.

I worked in Sainsburys when they rolled out the tills and you weren't told to take the receipts to stop people profiting etc, just to keep it tidy. When you're standing there for 4 or 8 hours a day you do what you can to keep busy :D

Agreed. Ohhh the fun that can be had getting carrier bags open and ready for the next customer, or re-rolling the till-rolls.

They have literally come over to a till I'm just about to use to remove the receipt/voucher rather than go to the person who is waiting, with the light on, for them to collect the wine to remove the security tag. To me that says its to stop 'abuse' (probably what they call it) of points/vouchers.

To date I have wombled £241.40 worth off vouchers, this is since June 13th.

Not done it every day, in fact 48 days in total. It is averaging £5 a day.

Not the best return, but as it is normally when I am going shopping for a few things or Pokemon catching with my kids, it is it well worth it, and contributes to an extra bit of exercise :)

I am kind of addicted to it as the buzz of not knowing how much you will get it is almost more than using the vouchers :)

I've only been wombling for about a month, but love it already. I only really go when I'm shopping anyway, or driving around because my LO is asleep in the car. Not made much yet, but love the buzz. I have found that the carparks are very tidy now though!

Definitely does sound like that - what a shame!

I suppose it's better when it is raining as they'd stick to the ground more, though you have to dry them out, watch out for them tearing, being unreadable etc.

I would imagine you would find more of them around car park hedges, especially when it has been windy.

I am not a wombler as rarely get to the shops but it sounds fun, if not a little embarrassing. :)

Morrisons are clearly onto this

The one in Leeds city centre has 3 staff most lunchtimes working on the self service area and they swipe receipts as soon as you leave one behind and put them in the bin!!

i womble when i can, i don't have an asda near which is a pity but unclaimed tesco clubcard points.. lots of places to womble- anywhere with a loyalty scheme - the works, brewers fayre, coop, odeon etc.. also the receipts that have no 'points' to claim I upload on receipt hog, shopprize, big dl .. and then if you can spot something that is on the cashback apps you can claim that back too ;)

to be honest its not really 'encouraged' or deemed illegal to take receipts from inside shops but trolleys etc are fair game.. farmfoods is another place you can womble from.. they have money off vouchers.. so if you find a receipt where they spent £25 you can go in and take receipt and voucher for £2.50 off and get the money! you do need to give your address ( well at mine anyway) so could only really do it occasionally.. i rarely find qualifying receipts :/
