Just wanted to check in on you guys as was wondering how wombling is going?

All I ever seem to see is self service checkout staff SWOOP in after I have put through my items to take unwanted receipts.

It's almost as if they have been told they have to do that to prevent wombling!

I think it is to 'improve' the look of the s/s area...the reduction of wombling is just an added bonus.

I've not had much from wombling recently as its quite a big tesco I go to and I think others beat me to it! :D The other problem I've been having recently is they aren't filling the voucher printer with paper enough on the s/s tills. my last 4 or 5 trips have seen the printer making all the right sounds, but nothing coming out. Part of me thinks this might be a ploy on the supermarkets to reduce costs.

My previous trip has been to go to the s/s checkouts with a basket of stuff, pay for a single lvi (low value item), get the vouchers they print and use the vouchers (usually extra points for an £x spend) on the rest of the shop. This has been thwarted by not get any vouchers at all.

There are always plenty of receipts on the self service tills in my local supermarket, I had to stop doing it though as the staff there know me and there is only so many times I could legitimately have receipts 'because my partner had not scanned his c/card'

I wobble once a week during my weekly shop. I’ve been known to take the occasional receipts from the top of the bin. I use the apps Shoppix, receipt hog, green jinn and check out smart to get cash back

This isn't something that I've thought of before but I'll be keeping my eyes open going forward - thanks for the tip!

Yes I womble. Gutten when Asda stopped with the pricee guarantee. I once did a free £40 in Asda just using the wombled receipts and a £20 food bank shop. I pick up anything really(receipts/maccies stickers/things I find). I found a PS4 controller on the edge of a park once. Works fine I gave it to my brother RRP of about £40. I also wombled the maccies stickers this year and won Speakers and loads of free food. I also find money regularly. From pounds to notes. I have all the receipt apps and squeeze everything out of the receipts. I use the cashback apps too and sometimes I get cashback off wombled receipts. The best being about £5 off one receipt.

I’ve Wombled all my life and have no shame in doing so. I pick anything up even if I have no use for it someone will be happy with it. For example, this week I had a glance in a skip on the way to work and pulled out a child’s pink backpack and some kind of action figure toy. They have since been washed and placed in my ongoing charity bag.

I always carry spare plastic bags and baby wipes with me and hand gel just in case I find something.

I haven’t collected till receipts before though but will from now on.
