Whats an APG?

It is an Asda Price Guarantee - think it is that they will be 10% cheaper than the other main supermarkets. If they are not when you check online you get vouchers to print off and then present them in store with the original receipt.

There's a tiny tesco next to my office, so I should start doing this - there's always a tonne of receipts at the self serve check out.

Can I add the clubcard points online, or do I have to get staff to do it?

I picked up my first Morrisons receipt in the street the other day, made my mum laugh but its money! no one would laugh if it was a five pound note.

Might be worth a try but this might be over my head a little with collecting receipts and price checking

I've wombled at Sains but i've noticed that now they only compare prices against ASDA and it is no way as good as it used to be.

If only there was a Mr. T near me as where I used to live he was always wanting me to save loads of money on my shopping! :D

I know it is sad but I got my biggest APG so far from a wombled receipt - £3.62! Sure I can do better - that is the aim.

Tesco has just announced they are moving away from coupons and moving to automated discounts at the tills. The Tesco coupons will soon be a thing of the past.

I'd not heard about this before! I'll have to look into this more! I wonder if the supermeerkat staff would get suspicious though if you just picked up loads of receipts from self service check outs etc. you probably have to be a bit savvy with it I imagine... :)

Now what I've done for years has a name and I like it! lol I think I need to start actively looking for receipts/ coupons more. I tend to only pick them up if I see them, particularly at the self-service tills. Another way to get them is by doing mystery shops for any one of the various companies, but product buy backs are the best. You have to buy all the affected products on the shelf, sometimes you have to buy a large number and you will be fully reimbursed. I've had large discounts from that and it's cost me nowt. Must start going to Asda more, it's not a place I shop much but the APG sounds interesting. I've vaguely heard of it.

[member=2509]The Reverend[/member] Tesco is moving away from coupons!!! Seriously coupons are awesome, shame we don't have coupons like how America does omg the amount all of us on the moneyshed would be having little coupon diarys, books and hauls haha

I meant 'when they compare the price with other supermarkets' not that they wont do coupons at all!

I've heard a lot about this lately, but I think I'd be too embarrassed walking around the carpark picking things up! I would do it though if I found one on the walk in and out of the shop though! Sounds like a smart way to make money.

not done the receipt thing at tesco, as i am sure the customer service advisor would know its not my receipt.

however supermarket car parks are a good source of income to find loose change, managed to find a couple of quid in one the other week in three parts of the car park, usually find a few pence here and there, and if you are really lucky someone can't be bothered to take their trolley back and you can find there's a quid stuck in that.

Has anyone noticed, since wombling has become more well known, the stores are cleaner than ever?!
I found a few receipts with money-back that I used in Tesco a while ago but now I am actively hunting the floor it seems the supermarkets have caught on and there is often no rubbish at all laying about.

This is the first time I read this thread. A very interesting one and should really be considered.

As far as I know tesco will honour them, just go to the customer service desk

This is interesting reading. I'm gonna start looking now when I'm in my local Tesco. I must admit, I sometimes keep my eye out for stickers from the McDonald's cups but my sister tells me off for it! Well I will not worry now!

I find reciepts easy to find in the tesco expresses at the automatic machines - people don't wait for thier reciepts and often staff are to busy to keep cleaning unlike the busyer stores.

Don't forget to scan your reciepts into reciepthog, shopprize and quidco!
