Hello everyone :) 8)

I haven't been on the Money Shed for very long, but i have found it very informative and Jon is great.

I have worked from home on and off for a few years now, but as time as gone on i am more partial to home work than working in a face to face office environment. This is for personal reasons as well as generally just preferring to get on with my work alone.

There are opportunities out there to work on line from home, but its not easy and its not a way of getting rich quick!

I have done various consultancy/lead generator jobs from home, also various other small ventures. More recently i have joined 63336 as a text operator - which is not easy to get into - the test is harder than it looks on the surface. I have also applied to Leap force, Lionbridge, Appen Buttler Hill for web based analyst/researcher style roles. I have not heard from Leap Force yet, Lionbridge declined my application (i feel this may be as i have a pending application with Leapforce) and Appen have just sent me the pre screen test which i will have a go at over the weekend.

So just thought i would post my experience on working online from home... always keen to hear more about any opportunities out there. Pm's welcome :D

Thanks Money Shed and thank you very much Jon

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Welcome to The Money Shed and well done for stepping out of the shadows and posting your experiences :)

Lots of creative ways to make money in this forum. I just went to Sainsburys to take photos of ice cream and buy some (Roamla app). Just waiting hear if my photos were good enough for me to take the taste test challenge for my £6 + price of ice cream payment :D :D

I've just downloaded Roamler and received my application form to become a researcher for 63336. I feel quite enthused!! ;)

I do work in an industry where you can be home based, however currently for me it's not practical as I don't have the room. But if there are people out there who do have space and are creative I can recommend curtain making and soft furnishing. I made a living from it for seven years and only stopped because I moved and had my son and life changed. Hoping one day i may have the room/time to go back to it. Its blimming hard work though!!

I am just doing the application form side of things. The exam sounds like the advice i was given when completing exams at school. Read the question c a r e f u l l y and answer it fully. Don't just write a whole load of words hoping there might be an answer they like in the middle of it.

Curtain making. omg i would go mad. i am not into that at all! If it involves needles and thread and or a sewing machine its a big no no for me. A bit like ironing.... some people quite enjoy it and do that from home! Again i would go into a fit of rage ;D

Yes having done the 63336 exam it is easy to over see things. Worth double and triple checking etc.... going to take the pre test for Appen over the weekend. Still not heard a thing from Leapforce. :-\

I've downloaded roamler.... however not a lot going on down my way, 1 task involving bananas in tesco. Not done all the experience tasks as yet though. Handy app to have when out and about if there is work in your area. But as i do not drive, bit too much effort to drive x amount of mile to for instance take a pic of a banana for £2...but will be good for some of you.

I have to say the Romler app is totally up my street. I'm already on 390 points - level one. I suspect I'll be on level two by tomorrow as I'm going to complete three out and about tasks today.

I totally love the creative side of it and have got my partner involved too as he works very close to a large supermarket/city centre so can do stuff in his lunch hour.

I am sure it's all horses for courses and some ideas are going to appeal much more than others. With all these things I suspect it involves initial legwork and really they are grooming you to see if you can be bothered to keep going.

I have resubmitted my £6 ice cream task as I was passing the supermarket concerned this lunchtime.
