Oh Boy that looks like more OK GOOGLE work

You going to go for it?

At that level of pay I think it might be a 20 pager which I have done before and does bring repeat work of the same nature a few days later

You do go slightly mental doing it by then you got the gist of he work last time when you did it for me :)

No as if they are like the last bunch you can just download Google Chrome to your laptop and do them on there

I indicated that I would be using Chrome and not my phone.
No issue - through to the next stage.
I think they are looking for a quick turn around on this. But what do I know!!!

Man - it's asking me to create a bloody profile. What should I put in for the hourly rate??!!!

I put zero. I really am that cheap!!
Seriously though the rate is predefined so don't think any need to worry.

Nah - it won't let me proceed without putting in an amount - and as I haven't done anything like this before, I'm totally unsure what to put lol

just put zero, it's irrelevant anyway as it is a set wage for the task

Approaching 4,000 applicants...

When you do the oDesk Readiness test don't expect it to take anywhere near 60 mins. You only need to have looked at the info for a couple of the questions, they're common sense question/answers. Nobody knock me off my 2nd place out of over 4million who have taken the test, lol.

Re: Work on oDesk: Native UK English Speakers Needed

I have not done any readiness testing, or infact nothing more than setting up a very basic office admin type of profile a couple of months ago when I was having a panic/stress/clutching a straws moment regarding lack of opportunities (see my historical posts!!)
I have never used oDesk, this will be my first task via them.

Just accepted the offer of the task, hopefully will have every through to do it later tonight when everyone is in bed.

(Well done Fred on your silver position, very impressive)

If you do some of the 400+ tests you can increase the number of applications you can make, so they can be useful if you find a few jobs you like the look of. I think it will really depend on what sort of jobs you want to apply for/are qualified for. There are plenty that are quite generic, others quite specific, but those I've looked at do take much longer than I took on the oDesk one, but still a lot less than they say. A lost of the times they give probably allow for you taking the max time i.e. each multiple choice question often has a time limit, which can be different for each question.

I think I'm in danger of sounding like I know about these people. I don't, I've just had a look around.

I think I did well on the oDesk test because I completed it quickly.

Do they email you or is it in a little inbox thingy on their website if you get accepted?

It's on the website.
https://www.odesk.com/find-work-home/

I had to complete it to be able to apply for anything.

Re: Work on oDesk: Native UK English Speakers Needed

The email came to my email account, with a click to accept this offer tab, I guess with a copy to the Odesk account.

As I haven't done any tests I am restricted to two applications at any one time.

I had the job invite emailed to me, rather than me search. I assume they emailed it to all UK English Speakers? The employer review looks ok, and the contract looks ok so going to have a punt on it. What is the worst that can happen!!

Depending on how this goes I may extend/make an effort with my profile.

Sorry if this sounds a bit short my tea is cooking - pasta night - yum yum!!!!!

If you do the test I mentioned you go up to 10 applications.

My list of jobs they think I'd be interested in all seem to be web development - I have no experience or knowledge of that.

I have an ODesk account and they didn't e-mail it to me, so I guess it can't be that they sent it direct to all English speakers.

I have done the readiness test and a couple of others and I can apply for up to 20 jobs.

I applied for this and no response yet - wonder if that means no....
