I agree that a lot of people share good advice however I am always uneasy that the site makes millions from people sharing stories of severe poverty. I feel that they could pay popular contributors or help secretly. I also think that they are not always upfront in disclosing their links when recommending sites like swagbucks.
I left after trying to help someone who had failed a food hygiene certificate. I suggested he buy a course book and study it before he retook the test. The same advice I used to give our staff who were in the same position. A couple of trolls joined the thread and said you had to be an idiot to fail the test. I complained but no action was taken.

There are a few people who do post pointless things that don't help. There have been posts removed when complaints were made but I don't know if the people were banned or limited.

I used to be uncomfortable when people were asked to post their SOA as it seemed intrusive but after seeing some it was so easy to see where cuts could be made.

I've got a blog post pending about whether a survey site is being promoted because it is 'good' or because the referral scheme pays.....

Most only care about the latter, not the former.
You're SO right! I've got a mixture of posts on Katykicker (most from 2016-7 when I did more surveys) and I've shared the ones I use, whether they have an affiliate scheme or not. I notice a LOT of people have stopped talking about how great Prolific is now that they don't pay referrals. I, on the other hand, have been talking about it more. It's one of the better-paying survey sites (along with Popululuslive and PineconeResearch - only one of which has paying affiliates) and while I get that we all want to make affiliate money (hello my signature right?!) I think it's still important to talk about great sites, whether they're paying or not.

I love me some ad work but also I wouldn't want to pretend Swagbucks or similar is better than Prolific or Populuslive just because one has an affiliate scheme.

Also, speaking of the green site...

I got in trouble for sharing competitions from 'friends' (people I was friends with on Twitter, you know 4,500 odd people) and so I told them to delete my account and stop being petty because they work in a sweaty office all day.

For me the worst offender now is OpinionWorld.

I have removed them from Katykicker ( I think). I used to do well there, even though the suveys were low paid (I used to do allll the surveys as I had lots of free time), then they cancelled my account and I started getting messages from other saying the same.

Same logic by which all the bloggers stopped promoting monzo when the affiliate scheme packed in!

yeah it's like "I don't use company X anymore" (cos they don't give me affiliate coin). WTF?

Indeed. I would never have heard of Prolific if it wasn't for this site, but for me it's far and way the best of the bunch right now. I wonder why it's never mentioned in the top lists of money making sites. Never seen it :/

I've signed up to Prolific but it's been as dead as a dodo for me since I joined - not one invite in months. The best I've ever had (and the only one I've ever actually got a withdrawal from) has been Populus Live. Getting that £50 cheque was very gratifying.

Oh there's Qmee too, I've had withdrawals there, mainly only because there's no min withdrawal and it's instant.

Have you got the prolific assistant installed?

Next up will be the new banks.....

"What do you mean you aren't paying me for referrals? OK, then you are dead to me....."

next week

"Hi everyone! I've just got to tell you about the most excellent bank that has started up. We don't know anythign about them, we don't know anything about their security BUT I get paid £10 for each and every one of you who sign up on my link and make a purchase."

If you are a survey companies you want “population” to take these surveys
Karen, stay at hone mum at home can answer those questions but can’t bring additional people to widen the demographic

bloggers can do but they don’t want to spend the time doing the surveys themselves as the referrals offer a better pay

it’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation whereby survey sites get promoted no matter how crap they are if they bring in a good referral budget!

I leave Prolific open during the hours I'm working :) It checks automatically for studies and atm I'm averaging about £5 a day, on the days I remember. I do have 'good' demographics but also I once had my account frozen and they never told me. So if you have the 'assistant' and still find no surveys I'd suggest dropping them a message.

I do the surveys. Only on the best paying sites these days, but I quite enjoy having a cup of tea and doing surveys, probably because I've been doing them for so many years now that it is habit.

Okay I should probably post this in a best survey sites one but I have just done a 2 question study for Testing Time and got £4 paypal promise immediately (not been paid just yet and no way to check). Never had a survey from them before but that's amazing.

Only thing is, it's incredibly hard to get any from them. I was invited to a pre-screening survey for a usability test on something or other. I didn't qualify, but got a little message upon my rejection inviting me to a £4 survey. Also failed pre-screening for that, got another invitation to another £4 survey, which I qualified for and answered just 2 questions - one of my age etc. and one deciding which product I liked best out of 3 options. That's it! Unfortunately there's no way of seeing any available surveys as they are email invite only at the moment. Hope that changes.

I did get in touch with them... and they told me that they carry out automated checks and that my profile had been essentially deactivated from the beginning because something apparently didn't add up. Now I know 100% that everything on my profile is accurate, and I'd swear under oath as such.

What really bothers me though, is that they didn't even have the courtesy to tell me, and just left me hanging for over two months.

That is SO rude! Really sorry to hear that.

Just like to thank anyone who used my referral link on this one, even though I can't remember where I posted it. I just got £175 worth of referrals at £5 each from that one. I'd completely forgotten about it :D
