I think it's high time we name some of the worst survey sites based on experience, and hopefully to make them offer fair compenation for time spent. I just received this:

56p for a 30 minute survey? Seriously? :D

I know there's quite a few people who use it a lot, but I'd include Panelbase on there now due to the high amount of screenouts. I tried one the other day and was screened out on the very last screen, which isn't the first time. I've completely given up on them now.

"Approx 31 minutes".

Some people might say "Approx 30 minutes" so I like the fact they are so precise in their approximation!

People will do it for 50p.

The next survey will be for 45p

and so on.

I do very little surveys anywhere as they are paying less and less.

I do

Vypr
Curious Cat

and thats about it.

I never know If it’s the survey site paying a pittance or the client paying the survey site one!

Well, let's vote with our feet and weed out who's the baddie. I reckon the survey sites are trying to cream off the surplus value.

The thing is, there's aspects of survey sites I really like but none have them all. Populuslive never screens out and pays very well (£4 for 20 minutes), but they don't have enough surveys to cash out and they only cash out at £50 using a cheque which takes ages to arrive and ages to cash into the bank. Populuslive with a lower cashout and instant paypal would be amazing. I suppose they're slightly different sites, but still. Populuslive is heavily involved with political surveys so really we should inundated with them this month.

Indeed. I would never have heard of Prolific if it wasn't for this site, but for me it's far and way the best of the bunch right now. I wonder why it's never mentioned in the top lists of money making sites. Never seen it :/

Opinion Outpost are awful as are NewVistaLive. Very little payment for long surveys. Toluna are another. I have been with them for years but closed the account last week. It will be the same with Maximiles when I have spent the points I have.

I like prolific and it is my best earner but they don't offer a referral bonus so a lot of money bloggers don't promote them as much as they should. I quite often get screen outs from Populous live. I get annoyed at having to provide the same demographic information each time but they do pay well. I think most survey sites either have very few surveys or lots of low paying ones.

Yes Swagbucks should be near the top. Are New vista and Toluna still active?

They are rated highly all the time and I always wonder why. I tried it once about a year ago but wasn't impressed.

It's also somehow listed as number 2 at moneysavingexpert, among others.

Yes, that was just the first result in the list on Google, but I'd expect better from Moneysavingexpert :(

They have Isay at number one, too. I used to like that but not been on it since I was randomly thrown off.

I've got a blog post pending about whether a survey site is being promoted because it is 'good' or because the referral scheme pays.....

Most only care about the latter, not the former.

ciao that was bought out by toluna defintely was teh worst.. 10p for 20 minute survey !
Think at the moment opinion outpost is defintely bad.. it is run by ssi which oddly can pay 50p on their quickthoughts app for 5-10 minutes or 0.75 on valued opinions (they bought it!) yet pay 0.25 on the opinion outpost site.. Makes very littel sense
Populus / Prolific are the best ones out there. New vista isnt too bad 1£ / 0.75 just need to predict where the buttons will appear and click before it times in.

To be fair to the green site there are people giving out excellent advice regarding debt and helping people stay out of court/facing bailiffs. It can be difficult seeing some of the stories of people hoping to sell something on ebay just to pay the minimum on the credit card/buy school shoes for the children.

Some have been so low they have asked is there a way out or would their families be better off if they were dead and the debt was written off. Following them as they start a DMP and now seeing that many are debt free/virtually debt free is inspiring. I can only say that there is always a way out but others quote laws so well they are giving people hope that they can get their lives back.
