When you apply for an online job with an organisation you know little about, how much information are you willing to part with by sending your CV? What with ID fraud and scams advertising wonderful jobs that don't exist etc etc. I've seen some jobs asking for photo, NI no, copy of passport to be sent online. Are you careful about what you put?

Generally, if apply through Gumtree or the like, I don't include my home address, rather an email address
I don't include my date of birth and I never give my general mobile number, just an old payg number that I used specifically for these kind of things.

I usually make a note 'happy to provide full details following further contact/telephone discussion

With stuff I have found through gumtree and the like, no chance am I giving them any sort of decent information about myself

for services that I sign up to like Market Force of whatever, as long as they have a decent internet background I don't really have any problem with giving them the information they want
