I've never done any work for Prolific before, is it just stuff from UK Universities you get then?
You beat me to the question.
I've seen Prolific Academic mentioned a few times on the site, but not dipped my toes in.
I'm guessing the answer is yes based on 119 pages of this thread, but is it worth getting involved?

It's one of my favourites but it depends on your disposition. I would like to know the 'right' answers sometimes. For instance, I did one where you had to say who was and who wasn't lying. It was fun but a bit frustrating not getting to know the right answers.

Haven't had anything since August! I got visual ping but it only seems to be profile questions I get notified about :( Also had issues logging in recently. I emailed them but they didn't really help. I tried again after a couple of weeks and I can now get in but still no surveys. Interestingly they asked whether I had a site monitor installed when I emailed them about the login issue. Not sure how that would affect things as I tried on 3 different browsers but I only have visual ping on Chrome and I also tried on a PC without visual ping at all.

I don't think I'm "the survey type", I hate answering the same questions over and over again and ticking mundane grey boxes then getting screened out..(Global Test Market here's looking at you!)
However, I love doing the Prolific surveys as they vary and are more interesting. The surveys are from all over the world hence you can log on at 3am and find a couple of surveys from China or the USA. However, they are random and I have to keep checking their site to see if anything is available.

My first disappointment on it today as my survey timed out even although I did it straight through so either I'm slow or the researcher didn't offer enough time. I've emailed them..

I've never actually timed out but I do think some underestimate the time it takes an ordinary person who is actually reading everything and concentrating to do them. I spend a lot more time on them than I do on market research ones because I am interested.

Yes I agree, I actually like doing these surveys but find others a real chore. Anyway the researcher replied thanking me for taking my time and it's been paid

I've used Prolific A in the past and have started using it again. I've found also found a lot of the surveys are well paid for the time they take and because of that I take extra care - it's a win-win for both us and them. I wish other survey sites would do the same.

Wayhey, nicely done. I really do like Prolific, but sadly I'm finding a heck of a lot less surveys being available lately.

Yes, I’ve thought the same. I think a lot of people have caught on to it so there’s more people trying to snag the same studies.

I've noticed an issue when initially trying to log in, that the site seems to try twice to do it before loading. But then it works fine... I think you're right @BreeziOG there are probably just a lot more users now, hence less spaces for tests up for grabs. I do like the more recent option of Circle payouts though, which removes the Paypal fee (hurrah!)

Not had any problems logging into mine, just a lack of decent surveys. Have only had low paid stuff for 25p or 50p.

It's worth checking Prolific regularly as there are good well paid surveys on there everyday, they just don't stick around that long always. There was a £5.30 one earlier and just done a couple of quick £1-2 ones, and a 50p one that took 2 mins.

Worth remembering too that if the low paid ones are very quick (check the average completion time) then they can be better paid for time than some of the others.
