Previously on TMS we have mentioned Field Agent, an App that lets you earn money while out and about.
There is another contender that is worthy of space on your phone though and that is Roamler.
The HQ of Roamler is based in Amsterdam but don't let that put you off. They have plenty of clients over here in the UK as well such as TomTom, Apple, Disney, Lego, Heineken and Royal Mail. They have dedicated people at their office whose job is to get UK companies on board to use them for finding out data in real time.
This is nothing new as such and the likes of Field Agent and Roamler give the client something that normal Mystery Shopping is currently unable to. Results in real time. A task can be done and the client gets the data from multiple locations straight away. I can certainly see the benefit compared to regular Mystery Shopping and I really feel that more and more Apps like this will appear over time.

The first thing you need to do is visit Roamler.com and make an account. Once done go to the App Store and download the app (Android or Apple)

Android : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.roamler&hl=en_GB
Apple : https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/roamler/id440588804?mt=8

Once you have downloaded the App, login and it will use your location to determine tasks available in your area.

Roamler works on a ranked system. When you first start using the app you start on Level 1 with only certain tasks available to you. As you work your way up and do more tasks you get access to higher levels and more paid tasks.

The main advantage over Field Agent is that payout is instant via PayPal and also tasks are very regular. Some are there at the same time every week and can earn you a lot of extra regular money.
Roamler also offers a referral service where you can get people to sign up and earn a % of whatever they earn each time they do a task.

Re: Roamler - Earn money using your iPhone or Android device

I have been doing this for a few weeks now however I am finding Roamler to be quite picky on what they accept in terms of photos. The rules seem to change on a daily basis which is quite annoying to say the least.

Re: Roamler - Earn money using your iPhone or Android device

I've been using Roamler for about a week. I haven't done any paid tasks yet but I have been completing a few of their XP builder tasks.

I had one of these rejected due to the quality of the photo, oops!

I have one paid level 1 task which I'm able to complete as the premises is only 1 mile away from me, I just hope it's still active when I visit the venue next week!

Are there any other lost souls like me who have a pretend smartphone ie a Windows Phone! Hopeless dearth of any of the remotely useful apps (the eBay one isn't bad - a rare gem). But at least I can open an Excel spreadsheet on it! Ha!

Re: Roamler - Earn money using your iPhone or Android device

I just wanted to come and add that I'm really enjoying Roamler over Field Agent.

In my Field Agent dashboard there is one job available to me, which realistically is too far away for me to do. So that's that, there's nothing for me to currently do unless a job comes up in my area.

Whereas in Roamler they offer tasks which can done at home (they aren't paid) which offer XP points on stead (so you can move up levels). I really like this concept because if there aren't any paid jobs, you can still do these tasks, which keep you involved.

:)

i DID have a windows phone but only because work forced them on us. I have an iPhone and haven't looked back really. When you choose a phone you need to factor in now how much money making potential is available. Both FA and Roamler offer the opportunity to earn decent cash. I also found another one on the app store called iPoll but haven't really investigated it yet.

Re: Streetspotr, the app that pays you for doing little tasks!

Just thought I'd let you all know that there is another app in this field, Streetspotr, who also pay you for doing small tasks with your Smartphone. They have literally only launched in the UK a matter of days ago, so understandably there aren't oodles of jobs available everywhere! At the moment, there are really easy tasks requiring you to photograph restaurant menus.
I've completed all the tasks in my area, I just wish there were more! The guidelines were simple enough to follow, all my photos were accepted thankfully and I got paid soon after. Cool app.

Using roamler but not earnt anything yet. Is it worthwhile once they start giving you paying tasks.

Personally I get bugger all. I think if you live near a city you get lots but I don't and it took me months to get to payout level.

I have a windows phone too. I love being able to use word and excel on my phone but the apps aren't great.

Re: Roamler - Earn money using your iPhone or Android device

You make it look sooo appealing!

Do you mind if I ask you more? Eg suppose you live in a small town such as Newmarket - would it be worth fighting the traffic getting into Cambridge (nearest city) to find the jobs?

And is it seriously worth investing in an iPhone if you don't have one already, to be able to take advantage of these opportunities? How much data would you say you get through in a month if that isn't too nosey a question?

I won't be at all offended if you'd rather not answer BTW :)

You can batch the jobs together. Flower tasks always come out on Thursday morning. I imagine Cambridge would have quite a lot but that I would think Newmarket would as well (i have been to see the races many times there!). That's just flowers though Takeaway checks are well, everywhere there is a Takeaway which offers delivery via Hungry House. The drinks task seem to be random pubs. They do £4 magazine checks and well everything in-between.

Roamler and Field Agent are my bread and butter after 63336. Field agent I earn a LOT from as well. That is only on iOS not even android but is a world wide brand so has a lot of clients. May be worth you picking up a cheap iPhone4 or Iphone4s to see how you find it. Data, err no idea I am on unlimited data with gifgaff for £12 a month. It's not a lot really its just the photo that I suppose can eat up the data.

I won't be at all offended if you'd rather not answer BTW :)
Would always answer, That's the point of the forum ;)

Thanks muchly for that info :-* :-* (double kisses today!)

Newmarket is fab - I don't know one end of a geegee from another, but the horsiness certainly makes the place unique

Re: Roamler - Earn money using your iPhone or Android device

Check out all these about to come online.
(there were another 38 Peroni checks below as well I just couldn't get them on the screen)

Hundreds of pounds worth of tasks there.

52 x £7 = £364
38 x £7 = £266
15 x £9 = £135
9 x £2 = £18
Total = £783

Re: Roamler - Earn money using your iPhone or Android device

Sure is

Really pays off to keep doing the basic tasks and ranking up as then you get access to the higher paid jobs
