We are all quick enough to criticize companies when they mess up so thought I would give a bit of credit to Royal Mail for their customer service. Back in February I sold some lego to a guy in Italy. All well and good until 6 weeks later I got an email from him saying he still hadn't received it. Exchanged a couple more emails to ensure he had checked with his local delivery office and made sure it hadn't been left with a neighbour. Foolishly, didn't send it tracked or insured because it was only a £18 item and tracking to Europe would have been too expensive for what the Lego was worth. So I gave him a refund and expected to take a loss on the item and the cost of posting it. A search on Royal Mail website showed I could make a claim for losses providing I had some evidence of posting and evidence of the cost of the item, which I did. So I submitted a claim, not pinning much hope on it but 5 days later a cheque arrive in the post for the full cost of the item and the postage I paid. It probably wasn't even Royal mail's fault as it most likely got lost in Italy's archaic postal system.
So on this occasion, well done Royal Mail.
