When signing up initially to Yukon, does anyone know if your Gmail account MUST be your primary email address?
They ask the following: Is the gmail account you signed up with the same as the account that you use
as your primary email for communicating with family & friends?
I've had mine for ages but it is not my primary email address by a long shot. Don't want to shoot myself in the foot and make myself ineligible though...

Yes I think I said mine was, even though it isn’t. They can only ask you to change it. I know Lionbridge asked me to create a new email.

Another thing I was wondering. I am going on holiday for 6 days in the middle of next month.
What are they like with things like that? I'd really rather not delay the application process that long.
With Falcon on Appen you just manually entered holiday as and when, no questions asked.
@Jon can you remember from your Yukon days?

they are fine, I went on lots of holidays while working for them
as long as you do 200 tasks a month they don't care so you could just so 200 1min tasks and you are sorted for the month

Do most people not start on Nile nowadays? The minimum for that is 5 days out of 7 but they are always fine if you email them before hand and tell them you will be away.
I think with Yukon, even if you do your 200 tasks, they still require that you sign in at least once in every 2 week period.
I missed my Nile target a couple of times in September - I've been having a really bad time of things though and when I emailed them to explain why, they were more than accommodating for me.

I'll keep that in mind and make sure to let them know when I'm away.So glad I've been accepted onto Nile after losing my Appen work.

How long did it take you to get onto Nile @luckyj142 ? I applied, it said they were reviewing my application, then it disappeared off my dashboard. They clearly didn’t like my Facebook account!!Glad they were understanding and you managed to hold onto it.

It was about 6 months after starting Nile that I got invited to do the Yukon exams. Good luck

Not long at all. But what I did do, which they tell you not to do, is email them asking what’s going on.
I sent an email saying ‘I applied a while back and haven’t heard anything what’s the deal?’ etc.
They emailed back and said ‘You look like a loser and we don’t believe you have any friends. Send us a screen shot of your Facebook friend count and maybe we’ll let you in the club.”
I did as they said, they were blown away by how many friends I have and I was rating ads 2 days later.
So maybe give that a go

Does anyone know how long after completing the exam you are due to start work if you are successful?
My exam is scheduled for the 6th Nov to be submitted by the 13th Nov but I go on holiday for 5 days on the 19th so I'm worried I'll be due to start the day I go away...
There is the option to reschedule the exam start date... tempted to rearrange it for when I get back.
Anyone with Yukon experience got any advice? @Leeceford or @Jon ?

Although I’m not yet (!) working for them, my honest opinion would be to reschedule to give you more time to study!!!!

Don't reschedule @luckyj142, the exams are pigs and I reckon its better to cram in the revision and then do it while it is fresh in your brain.
As Jon said, taking 6 days off Yukon is not an issue, they like you to log in at least once every 2 weeks but after that as long as your 200 are done, how and when are up to you.
Good luck and don't stress over the exams too much. I passed first time and if I can do it, so can you.
