On Prolific, we endorse the principle of 'ethical rewards'. That is, we stipulate that researchers compensate participants with at least £5 (~6.50€ / $7.50) per hour.
Topaz said:Has anyone else noticed the the equivalent hourly rate on some of the studies has dropped considerably? I've had quite a few recently that are only paying around £3.60 ish per hour. Just looked and there's one at the moment offering £4.30 per hour.
But according to P.A's own 'about' section:

Thanks for your message. We had instances, where this happened, due to researchers estimating an average completion time and then participants actually taking longer than expected. However, we always try to fix this by contacting the researchers and ask them to either increase the basic payment or pay the participants a bonus payment afterwards to cover the difference in time. We are also working on a solution to stop this from happening in the first place. If you see a study that shows a lower payment, please let us know and we will take care of it!

I cash out regularly. I find the best way to get studies, is to leave the tab open on your laptop. You can then just refresh it now and again to see if anything is available. They also send out survey notifications sometimes, too.
