Hello

I am a complete newbie to this, so please any advice/support would be fantastic. I have read quite a few posts and I am just not sure where to start...

Little about me - I have two little ones, I am a stay at home mum (would like to work but with childcare prices its pointless) and in an ideal world I would like to try an earn as much as I can as I have some debts I need to pay off :( (would love £200 -500 or more if I can make it happen)

Only things I am not willing to do is any pyramid type schemes or cataloguing as we are swapped by people round here doing that!

Any ideas on where or who to start with? how many hours you spend doing online stuff? how can I make a decent amount of money? how long did it take you?

I am always one for lots of questions ::) Thank you in advance.

What are your skills? Can you bake? Type? do bookkeeping? Have childcare qualifications? Start by writing down what you're good at and go from there.

Hello & welcome :)

Ok, right, let's see.

First of all, I would start off by downloading all the apps that make you money on to your smartphone. This includes Field Agent, Roamler, iPoll, Click n Walk, Streetspottr, One Pulse, Quick Thoughts, Checkout Smart & Shopitize. (There will be others that I have forgotten lol). There will be a thread on the forum for all of these explaining what they're about, but feel free to ask us too.

Next. Mystery shopping. I suggest edigital & marketforce. You can do some of the tasks online, others can pop up around your neighbourhood.

Next. Leapforce, Appen, Lionbridge & iSoftstone. All of these require an entry exam, and it's a great way of working from home as a web search evaluator. There's quite a few people on here who do this sort of work - so they can advise you on that.

So, then, survey sites & PTC (paid to click) sites. These are personal opinions of how much you earn - some pay in cash and some in vouchers, but my personal faves are Global Test Market, Valued Opinions & Swagbucks. These sites are all trial and error I'm afraid; you gotta workout which ones fit your demographic profile.

The, you have blogging, writing articles, things like that. I'm not clued up on all of that so I won't comment, but there are plenty people on here who will.

I found this site via another member who posted about it on the green site - and I've never looked back. I work from home for 63336 (that's another one - it's a text Q&A company but I don't think they're taking on at the min), and I would never have known about that job if it wasn't for the lovely members on here (oh and Jon ;) ). You'll love it here - we are all (especially me of course) really nice and helpful.

Owt else you wanna know - fire away. ;D

Don't think in over 17,000+ posts i've ever seen doing cataloguing even mentioned on here.

I assume by Pyramid schemes you mean MLM/Direct Selling / Avon/Younique/Juice+/whatever crap

You don't have to touch those at all. there are LOADS of ways to earn money from home that don't involving spamming facebook trying to get recruits

can I recommend that you take a look at the 'getting started earning from home' toolkit I made which is a great guide to help you get started

My house has been in renovation stage for about 2 years so unfortunately baking and childcare are out of the questions :-\ . Other skills are typing, research, I am sort of an alrounder on the business side of things as I ran my partners company for 2 years and have about 6 years exp in being a personal assistant. I like to be arty and create stuff but market is swamped by that too! Will start writing a list and see where it takes me :)

Queen81 has given a really good answer. :)
Very detailed. It is a bit of a minefield until you know where to start.
Allot of it is just a question of trying things out and see how you get on. with any new site I am trying out I give it 3 months minimum to see if it is any good then if it isn't working out well then I will just remove myself from it.
Hope you find a few profitable things that will suit you the best. :)

Hi MrsGlady,

I am starting out with this too. I already do ebay, but wanted other streams of income too as this is unreliable for me. I have spent most of this month signing up to things and seeing what seems natural for me, what seems a chore, and so on. I also did the leapforce study but failed the exam. But I am finding I enjoy copywriting and so am practicing this too.

This forum has been excellent advice for mw, stick around ;)

Im very new around here, just started last month but I'd recommend start off slowly with a few of the survey sites and slowly build up, amount of stuff out there is overwhelming!

Have to agree

When you first start out it is indeed very overwhelming

Like I have mentioned above, make sure to check out my 'getting started' toolkit to help you with those first few steps to earning online from home

Queen's answer is good.

If you're wanting to work, I would recommend web search evaluation. I work for Leapforce (not for too much longer I fear, as my contract is due to end soon). There is a minimum of 10 hours a week up to, in some cases, 40 hours a week, if you want it, and it pays above minimum wage. Like queen, I also do 63336.

You can earn a lot of money doing the other things as well, especially if you have an iPhone it seems.

Hi

I'm new to this also and have looked through a lot of the forum posts - I'm not looking to make loads of money just want something to keep me busy. I'm able to do about 3 hours a day and have access to a car and smartphone.

With apps like field agent and roamler do you have to travel long distance to get jobs. Also the survey sites I've signed up for a few of them but a lot of the surveys they tell me i'm not eligible for them.

Leapforce whats this all about?

FA & Roamler can be good if there are jobs in your area- it all depends where you live. You can travel as far as you like.

What survey sites have you signed up to?

And Leapforce is web search evaluation.

I've signed up for the following sites

Clixsence,Swagbucks

but really would like something that pays into paypal and not vouchers

Survey sites can be slow burners.
I use One Poll, iPoll (can be a pain in the arse), Global Test Market.

Onepulse, slow but one of the best.
Roamler for android phone also for apple to.
Field agent for apple both good but both are a bit of a location lottery, you will rather get lots poping up weekly or every now and then if your not in the location hotspot but you will get something.
Clixsence if it dont drive you mad, lol.
Jon put up a really good guide with all the info you need and you will find your own favorites. :)
