I view Instagram as a visual representation or moodboard of who I am as a person/personal brand/blog. So I try to keep the focus on what I like within reason, rather than doing what other people are doing on there, and becoming a poor copy of someone else! I just use my iPhone, and try to take a bunch of pictures in one go, especially as we approach winter where lighting will become a problem!
That sounds good. There is too much rubbish on social media and like you I do not really want to add to it. Which is why I am having to think very carefully about the whole monetization thing too.
Agreed! I wouldn't feel bad for using Amazon affiliates in my book review posts because it's an organic growth from hobby blog, to blogging professionally, especially as I usually include the link to Amazon in my posts for free. But I wouldn't want to post absolute drivel, either on my blog, or sponsored content on Instagram being a real phoney!

On MacBook you can do this via changing the browser to develop > view as iPhone / iPad etc am sure there is something similar on PCI'm sure i discovered a way to do this, theres a lttle 'mobile view' icon so you can switch to that on your laptop and upload from your laptop
I've been using it a tad less as I got a bit obsessed hehe. I started assuming that my husband should know xyz because it was on my stories and it does take a bit of time tooMy 2p - Instagram stories are ace lol
You can a lot of hashtags in stories but picking a background colour for the text so it hides it. It's time consuming but hashtags like "#fruitoftheday# has got me hundreds of views eventhough no one can see the hashtag in the story
I used this way to upload images from laptop earlier this year on my now unused insta account

Apologies if I've missed the point of Insta stories, but I find it really annoying if you click on a profile to view it - and it goes on the slow slide show story thingy.
As for running an entire business on Instagram, isn't that a single point of failure risk.
Except that you can't share to stories on desktop, which is a pain in the bum.Just saw this thread has been updated - I can confirm Instagram now works via your laptop so you can upload directly from what's on your computer. Just navigate to Insta on your browser like Chrome, log in & use as normal, no app required
