HI all,
I am a 52 year old Mum and full-time nurse. The last few years have been financailly hard, due to my ahusband's menatl health problems and not paying attention. I have now decided to start paying atteniton and would love to get straight again.
So far I have:
Done some surveys from Swagbucks
Earned £5 from prolific academic. This was very exciting as it is the first non-NHS money I have earned in 34 years.
Tried to register with pinecone, but only got so far as entering my age and could go no further. They obviously don't want the views of an old hag.
Looked at the AQA/ 63336 ( or is it 36663?) page, but was put off as it asked you to send a CV, which for me would be all about nursing, so not really relevant!
Read about matched betting and could not understand it. Why do you not just bet on the opposite result? I feel it could go badly wrong and looks rather mathematical (grade 3 CSE). Not sure if I have the courage to try it.
I am wondering if it is worth getting rid of my windows phone as none of the money making apps seem to be available. I don't really want to pay for an iphone 6 and wondered if one of the 5 models would be sufficient?
Anyway, I have a 16 year old girl and a 14 year old boy. I would like to make some extra money to help with Christmas, so as not to get any more debts or spend Christmas worrying.
Hope I haven't rambled on too much.
H.

Hollyhock64 Hi I'm also new to this and am finding this complicated (should we hold each others hand so to speak) I think I'm about to make my fist "bet". regards Teresa x
Hi Teresa, I just saw your kind message. I'm impressed to see you have been betting. I'm still dithering. I think I will start once I get my children back to school, and GCSE results day over today.
I haven't fully got the hang of finding my way around here, so hope I am quoting properly.
Best wishes.

HI Teresa, sorry I've only just seen your nice comment. I am impressed that you are betting already and I hope you have made lots of money. I haven't started hyet and seem to be dithering. Once my kids are back to school I should get some more time in the evenings.
I am still getting to grips with finding my way around here, so hope I have quoted properly.
Best wishes.

Have read your toolkit page several times. It contains a wealth of info. Thank you. At present only have an iPhone and an iPad Air. Can see I will need to save up for one of the mentioned laptops in time. Congratulations, Jon, for creating this brilliant site.

Hey @jeremyb

Have you managed to give Mystery Shopping a try yet? It's really easy once you get past the confidence barrier I found!

I've updated the toolkit today to bring in more into 2017 with some extra added info.

Shows how long it's been the same when there is a sentence in it that says how The Money Shed has over 1600 posts!!

Thanks for letting us know about the update @Jon :). Just a quick pointer:

this thread is titled 'the earning money online Toolkit' so I went to the blog, looking for the updated version under 'Toolkits'. It took me a while to find it under the 'beginners guide to earning online' tab instead.

Incidentally you still have Whatusersdo as paying £8 per task - this is now £5 instead.

Good update though, will be looking at some suggestions, thanks

Great information, I used to spend a lot of time doing surveys and the like about 5 years ago, but gave up a lot because of the pennies I was earning. Just joined prolific scientific and earned £9 doing a study I actually enjoyed. Things seem to have changed
