Doing my first acca today, with one leg at 3pm and another at 5:30pm. I was sooo worried I was going to miss it, even though I set an alarm

Kind of an odd way to spend my birthday I guess?
Happy Birthday!

What sort of acca are you doing? Normal, Lock In, Lay all?

Hehe, thanks! :D

@Jon just a normal one, I'm definitely walking before I run on this one!

(just realised that cake says 357 rofl!)
I tend to do 4 normals alongside 1 LOCK IN to cover any qualifying losses I might have..

Paddy Redicean offer hits. Hopefully Paddy will go refund if 2nd for Cheltenham.

Speaking of which, Skybet are doing refund on the first race every day for Cheltenham :).

Five at once? Wow, I think I'm gonna have to work up to that! How do you keep on top of them all?

@Jon help! I’m away this weekend and literally just sat bolt upright in bed as I forgot to lay Liverpool v West Ham on my lock in acca. As Liverpool won, will this matter?? And should I now just lay the next game (which is Olympique Lyonnais v St. Etienne, although acca catcher says that was yesterday and it’s actually today, unless I’ve cocked that up too!!)

If you forgot to lay then change the lay amount to 0 on acca catcher for that game and the rest of the numbers should all adjust

Thanks Jon. I’m a liability! Need to think about my plan. I note you do one lock in, to cover QL’s, and four normal. Normal are the ones where you get the free bet if one leg loses, right, whereas the lock in is the small but guaranteed profit? So the idea behind normal is basically law of average in terms of it coming in?

Yes normal accas are a “hit and hope” approach

Thank you! It’s progress!!
Do remember that the 'lock-in' method still assumes you get a free bet if one leg loses, so if one leg only does lose you will have a free bet you will need to cash in in the normal way. The guaranteed (and it isn't 100% guaranteed - if the odds move badly against you, you can make a small loss, although this is very rare) return is effectively using the free bet money in advance.

I still maintain Coral have one of the best horse refund offer(s) around which I know doesn't get that much love on PA (dunno about OM) but they do a refund during the flat season on if your horse is beaten by a length and during jump season it's refund if your hall falls

Refunds are up to £25 and if you can get close matched (which you always can) I do around 3-4 each Saturday with a total QL of around 10p and just hope for the best

You can see here

That there are ALWAYS fallers!

Just a personal thing but betting on the potential of a faller is something I have a problem with as it comes with the potential of a horse being put down. I know I bet on horses and it is always a risk that something bad may happen and I am helping fund that, but betting on a horse hoping it falls is a bit too much for me. I do bet on the beaten by a length races though and have had some good returns.
