I started by signing up to awin.com and Amazon affiliates. I haven't earned anything from either yet, still need to figure out the trick to affiliate marketing!

@Thrifty Mum - You're not alone, I haven't made anything with AW either.
@tinker0159 - think of the places you'd like to link to, the products/services you'd like to recommend... Many will have their own affiliate scheme (like Book Depository), while others are on the likes of Affiliate Window (like Superdrug), but applying to them can take some time (ie. leave enough time between your post and getting a response from your application to them). There's also eBay too.

I use Skimlinks and much prefer it to Awin. You don’t need to sign up to individual programmes and it converts all your links for you.
