Alternatives to Adsense?

Most website owners decide to list Adsense ads on their website in order to gain a bit of revenue. I've been using the ad network for over 3 months and I'm still not even near my £60 cash out limit, but I'm literally earning £0.01 per click which is not great when I'm only getting a few clicks per day.

Does anyone have any better alternatives to Adsense which pay out more?

Amazon do a good alternative which seems to work well for others

I would depend on what website you are running the ads on I guess - can you show us?

I'm currently running it on my gaming blog. I'm not looking to make profit from the blog, I just want to make some money so I can put it into certain things such as graphics and the theme.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh Wordpress - my favourite blogging software.

The template you have used it great and the content looks very good as well.

personal comment : I would stay away from reviews - those are covered by the likes of IGN and Gamespot etc. I would stay to hot news and gossip that will bring people into the site, also controversial opinion on a blog never goes wrong ;)

What are you doing to get the big scoops? Just trawling sites like NeoGaf etc and then posting about stuff on the blog?

We don't have many reviews, but I guess the occasional review doesn't hurt.

Are you meaning about where we get our news from?

Yeah if you want blogs to grow you need a reason for going to them (ie new content)

Im an adsense user, and have been for 2+ years and I normally make the £60 threshold every 3 mths so an average year would see me take £240 although in the last 2 months my earnings have started to rise, so im hoping to start making the threshold every 2 mths shorty

In my opinion google adsense is by far the best generic ad network, so unless you have a really unique niche its a no brainer

How popular is your site? How many impressions do you get monthly?

Its actually not just one site but something called a "ring" of proxy websites, I would say maybe around 8 sites in this ring and these are this months adsense stats:

Visits Clicks
AdSense for Content 14,059 88

And that has made £19.59 so far this mth

Not bad at all. It's much better than me. I have no plan to stop as I know it will increase over time, but it just seems way too low at the moment.

How long did it take until you started to earn this type of money?

Well the truth to that question Brad was the minute I got of my arse and did some SEO work, and some advertising, up to then it was making pennies a mth.

Its all about driving the end user to your site, that's the long and the short of it.

I totally agree with this. I've heard people say it time and time again and it's still one of the best sayings when it comes to a website. I'll just keep with content and hope it improves.

Hi Brad, I treid Skimlinks but it was no where near as good as Adsense. I would focus on getting more traffic and also searching for profitable keywords to write about to so you might get more than 1p per click
