Hi all,

another newbie here :). I've been making some extra cash over the last year or two. Mainly using ebay to sell old stuff and swagbucks, nothing too special. Just looking to expand on it. I've been reading up on matched betting. Seems very complicated, but having seen a lot of posts of people using profit accumulator, I am slowly being swayed towards trying it. I have also thought about finding tutoring jobs for weekends (mainly science and maths) when I'm generally free, but I have no idea where to begin. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated :D.

Hi Jon,

thanks for the warm welcome, and thanks for the link to your blog post, very informative ;D. I have thought about it and had looked up fiverr very briefly, but I heard that getting jobs isn't easy without good reviews to begin with or something akin to that. I may be wrong. Actually, I did a bit of geology too as an undergrad, although I was pretty rubbish at identifying rocks. Did you find very many takers for geology tutors?

Just started trying out some surveys on various sites and most of them ask for my occupation. I am a research scientist at a university and only one survey so far had that option, and another science as a sub catagory with Bio-tech, which is not my field. I'm not sure I've spotted any other options which are close, maybe research and development, although that is not strictly true either, and again, not always available. The university itself is indeed an institute for education, so should I just stick education down, or go for other?

If you're starting out with limited money available or experience, matched betting is the way to get going. This will give you quick, easy, cash.

However what I do is combine matched betting with another program that allows me to make money without having to sell or recruit, in fact far more money than in matched betting, but this is for long-term residual income. It's an amazing business opportunity that is changing lives around the world!

I will try matched betting soon. I'm trying other things first though. I signed up to a few survey sites, downloaded a few mystery shopper apps, and I'm going to give utest and whatusersdo a try. Might be trying a few too many things at once though so I might reign it back a bit.

I would pick education if I were you. I have to just try and pick whatever category for my occupation looks nearest as it is rarely listed. Populis lists it, but then lists a load of job titles that aren't really used any more.

You sound like me! Luckily I found an old Filofax in a cupboard so I am using it to keep a record of what I am up to. I recommend whatusersdo. I got two tasks straight away. I am going through Profit Accumulator's tutorials and made a profit on my first set of matched betting bets. I have now come to a halt because I haven't been able to register with Betfred. I am slightly embarrassed to contact PA and ask if it is okay to use another site in case they think I am dopey!

What do you mean you are unable to use Betfred? What does it say when you try and sign up?

Once you pay for PA you will have ooodles of bookies and new sign up offers and daily reloads offers you can do

It just says I need to speak to customer services. There is nothing odd about my personal details! I tried twice at different times today so I don't think the site is faulty as presumably they would fix it more quickly than that! I just wasn't sure whether they use Betfred in the newbie tutorial for a reason or whether any site will do. I am thinking of paying for PA as I have found the whole thing fascinating (I am that sad) so not sure whether to just go straight ahead and skip the second video tutorial bets.

[member=3860]MagratGarlick[/member] Betfred did this to me. I called them and they said I had an account already. I didn't have an account, but they wouldn't budge, and wouldn't give me any details about my supposed account. It was probably someone that used to live at the address. Anyway, I opened an account in my husbands name instead. Is that an option? Or you could keep insisting that you've never had an account and offer to email your ID over? I didn't think of trying that myself. I think they must be a little bit over careful when checking new registrations against their existing members.

Thanks for that. I only moved in to my current address 18 months ago so maybe that is the issue. Having seen the reviews of their customer service online I am not sure I can face having a big debate with them!

Hi everyone!

I just tried my first matched bets this weekend using a free offer from Profit Accumulator. I made a small first profit of £19. I also got access to a free scratch card from BetFred and won £5. I am putting all of my matched betting income into a savings account to save for a house move later in the year.
