I love mine. I have a variable voltage battery pack and a nice blue cartomiser. I just got a "minty bubbles" today which, honestly, tastes like mint Aero! It is OUTSTANDING!!!

Anyone else using these we gizmos?? What are you smoking? Why did you take it up change??

I gave up the white sticks nearly 13 years ago due to work.

2 years ago my eldest was on a school trip to New York , when he was mid flight , they stopped all flights to New York etc due to the hurricane -OMG I cried and cried and the stress of worrying about my boy mid flight and then being in America with all the hurrican news on TV nearly gave me a break down. I need a cig so tried an E lite, after a while I found they were expensive compared to the ''fill your own '' type, the batteries did not last long and sometimes we had to drive around looking for a stockist.

I now use a refillable thingy lol with changeable wicks and rechargeable batteries.

I do not like the tobacco taste or the fruit/foody ones so I use the menthol with a dash of peppermint.

Best thing is I can use it in our company car when husband has to wait until we stop before he can have a cig hahaha

Yes I have changeable coils. Do you find the batteries die quick? What brand do you use?

Well they aren't going to appear alongside your 5-a-day fruit n veg anytime soon, but they surely got to be better than real tabs.

It all depends on how much I have used it , but my battery tends to last 24-36 hours

I use a local company in Cardiff called Dragon 10 for the batteries and bits

Some say they are ok, some are say its too soon to deceide as they have not been out long enough for research etc.
I am careful where I buy my liquids from and only buy from decent shops and one or two online sites not eg ''dodgey'' ebay sites in China

Dr Christian Jessen (embarrassing bodies) often answers questions or posts links to news about ecigs and he is all for them compared to normal cigs .

I had to have treatment with a NHS podiatrist last year and he asked me if I smoked so I said only ecigs, the only comment he then made was to tell me not to smoke real cigs due to me being diabetic.

My husband has been using them for just over a year and he uses this beast http://www.go-liquid.co.uk/Store/e-cig-devices/vamo-v5-kit.html, has done now for well over half a year (the same one). He has 2 rechargeable batteries and each one lasts him a couple of days but they are starting to age so he might replace them soon.

Are they healthier? Well nothing has been set in stone but it is the crap in the cigs that cause the damage, not the nicotine (it's actually on par with caffeine), ecigs don't contain crap, they don't smell like crap and don't make everthing/everyone else smell like crap so I am happy that he uses this rather than regular cigs. He tried to stop so many times but fallen off the wagon each time.

A lot of the flavours taste nice too but he tends to go for menthol as the fruit/chocolate flavours can become sickly.

Referral link for 10% off ;) http://goliquid.refr.cc/CNN2XDM

Is that true cos according to Cosmo magazine

• Nicotine is not carcinogenic, but it is highly addictive; after inhalation of smoke, nicotine reaches the brain within 20 seconds and its effects are felt within a minute.
• Nicotine is five to ten times more potent than cocaine or morphine in producing behavioural and psychological effects associated with addiction, including feelings of pleasure, according to a report produced by the U.K.’s Royal College of Physicians in 2007.
• Nicotine dependence is reflected in the difficulty associated with trying to quit smoking. A 2006 report by the U.K. Office for National Statistics found that the majority of smokers (around 70 per cent) want to quit, yet the success rate remains very low. Fewer than 20 per cent of people who embark on a course of treatment to quit smoking succeed in abstaining for as long as a year.
• Nicotine binds to an area of the brain known as the adrenal medulla, which increases the flow of adrenaline. This in turn causes increased blood pressure, heart rate and respiration, and these conditions exacerbate existing heart and blood pressure problems.
• Nicotine can contribute to sleep disorders. It stimulates the nervous system and when taken at nighttime it ensures that the user is alert and awake rather than deep in restorative sleep.

I started off on the 24mg of nicotine, I'm now onto the 18mg and the plan is to hopefully go down and down until I'm onto the zero nicotine.

Nicotine is addictive yes but it isn't what causes the cancers, lung diseases and breathing difficulties; that's the tar and crap put in the cigarettes to make them burn etc. Like I said it's on par with caffeine all of which has the same effect on people, the list you gave is all the same things that caffeine does to the brain/body.

R.E. The health stuff - I am setting up a blog as part of my WA adventure. This is going to be discussed in the first post. After that news and reviews etc.

It can be a bit of a touchy subject for some so it *should* be fairly unbiased with some personal experience thrown in. 8)

But I honestly love mine - I also have a grest supplier and am working on an affiliate program to be up soon!

Today, in fact, is my 5 year stop-smoking-aversary.

I just used a quit counter thingymajig to work out I've saved:

£13,699 and not smoked 36,531 cigarettes.

That is an obscene amount of cigarettes I've not smoked!

Duh, I meant to say:

well done to all the non-smokers. Queen - you can do it, don't give up. You've come so far! Iggysmum - how stressful to go through that! IdeasGuy - good for you for stopping smoking.

I don't know anything about the e-cig. Gotta be better than the chewing gum that burnt your mouth and tasted disgusting. My dad has been hooked on chewing gum/lozenges for at least 13-14 years now. And he smokes on and off too.

I stopped using Champix. Really so happy and grateful that I stopped. I have a three year old and I'm so pleased I stopped before I was pregnant. I really feel for pregnant mums that smoke and try so desperately to quit.

  That is a gobsmacking amount of money! Well done! :D That must make giving up doubly satisfying - do you feel a lot healthier for it too?

I must admit to being totally out of touch with how much a pack of ciggies costs until I was in a betting shop yesterday on an "assignment" ;) and a fellow customer won £8 on the slots and said that would buy him A packet of fags . I had no idea that's how much they set you back these days. That £8 would feed me for 2-3 days. It's a different world.

Congrats to all you quitters and best of luck to those who are trying. I've seen friends and relatives struggle, but they've unfailingly felt a whole ton better once they've cracked it.
