hi guys ,

i recently saw a documentary on tv the other day about uks youngest millionaires. One guy was from london and made a million from home doing online trading self taught. So i was wondering does anyone know anything about online trading and if it is worth it and where to start.

I don't think this is something that is easy - for every millionaire there are probably thousands that have tried and failed. But saying that, if you really want to do something then read read read and educate yourself and you can get there is you really set your mind to it. Start with small exposures and don't expect it to make you rich in the near future.

I used to do online trading on Betfair with horseracing, football is much easier, if you are into sport you could give that a go.

I dabble in foreign exchange trading occasionally but it can be an unforgiving world for the uninitiated.

www.babypips.com is a great site to learn the basics and has a reasonable forum for asking questions ad finding about other peoples experiences. Not as good as this one mind ;-)

A few months ago I paid for a beginners course in online trading with the Academy of Financial Trading. Think it was purchased through an Amazon Local offer, and it was a series of live webinars which were very good, plus email support if you needed to ask questions after the webinar. Decided that online trading wasn't for me, but it might be worth you taking a look. I think they have a 30 day free trial at the moment too.

[member=1794]freenessmaximus[/member] may be a little late, but i watched exactly the same documentary. The guy himself actually has a "trade signal service". I signed up for the free trial that was offered and watched over the course of 10 days, however his signals/tips were nothing extraordinary at around a 60-70% success rate.

Alarm bells also began ringing when i was asking to provide a screenshot of my initial deposit on his selected trading site... Photoshop always comes in handy ;)

I could probably achieve the same sort of win rate so i never actually backed any of his signals and that he was definitely going to be making a nice commission from the selected partner trading site you were sent to.

Just seemed like too much of a scam. Thinking about it now I'm actually surprised that C4 didn't receive a large amount of complaints for starring him in the documentary! Free national advertising for a conman ???
