My laptop has broken :( the charger has stoppped charging. I didn't even get the chance to save everything. Really hoping we can get it repaired without the thing getting wiped. I backed it up not too long ago so won't have lost any photos , its just my work files. Also worried because all my passwords are saved, or nearly all of them, I tried deleting browser history and saved passwords and form data but I don't know if it managed it before the battery ran out.

I'm so annoyed and upset about it. :(

Do you mean the charger is not working or the laptop is
Not taking a charge?

Passwords - my biggest advice is to use Lastpass which is a cloud based secure password system that remembers all your passwords for you and which you access from any PC using a Master Password

certainly worth a try, no point sending it off if all you need is a new charger

And don't forget you can always remove the hardrive and take it to someone that will be able to remove all the info on it and put it on a disk or another hard drive

Good luck and I hope its an easy fix for you

Cheers

Luckily my brother in law has the necessary equipment to copy my hard drive so I won't have lost anything. I'm much happier now :) Just got to get my laptop fixed/replaced then I'll be back to normal lol

Yay my laptop is back!

It needed a new hard drive, charger and keyboard! Just trying to remember what I had on the thing now lol

More bad luck in our house though as our TV stopped working last Thursday :( going from a 37inch screen to a 15 inch one is depressing! Rather than rushing out and buying a new one DH is having a go at fixing it with the help of youtube videos lol Though it was worth a go as it would have only gone to the tip!

have you tried the following

take battery out and charger completey, hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Then plug the power cable back in and power it up, once it starts booting plug the battery pack in. This may solve the issue

Its already been repaired. If it happens again I'll keep this in mind. Thanks
