Chat room jobs

So, last night I was doing my Leapforce ad evaluator hour when an ad popped up for a chat room. Won’t say what it was, but they have an Instagram account and it actually looked ok. I’ve never thought about this as a way of making money but it was basically people asking questions and you get paid to answer, or you can talk to individual chat room users and get paid for basically having general conversations with them. Now, I’ve been round the block and I know that these sort of things can get dodgy if not with the right site, but has anyone had any experience of being a chat room “host” or is it best to steer clear??

I have had two ads come up now. One was a company named cloud workers. I’ve not looked into it all that much but on the surface looked ok. No idea what it entails or pay or opportunities etc.
The other one was for, erm how to put it.....advertised as webcam work, but think you can just “chat” to individuals but the level of that chat is governed by you. If nothing else it gave me a laugh thinking that money can be earned like that. I’ve heard of people being chat line hosts whilst doing the ironing but wasn’t sure if this was urban myth!!
I also have a friend who works for sky sports moderating their chat room but not sure how he got that, but shows there are legit jobs out there...

Well if you're up for it and the pay is decent then give it a crack. I would imagine it pays more than being a Bingo Chat room moderator which in all honestly would drive me round the bend!

One of my friends is a chat host for a Bingo site. She said basically, you chat to them to keep them playing as long as possible and help with any problems they have with the games. She said its good money for sitting on your sofa, but she hasn't mentioned the hourly rate.
I did do chat room psychic/mediumship readings for a while. But gave it up when my health deteriorated as it became a bit too tiring.

I thought Cloud Workers sounded familiar and I have just remembered that I applied for a 'sexting' job with them ages ago but they never got back to me after asking me some questions by email. As far as I could remember the work involved chatting to guys online but and basically sending flirtatious messages to them. I think it was a dutch based company.

It's 10 European cents per message and as Jane said, you have to book your hours .a week in advance. I prefer to work when I can.
