what competitions do you do? I enter magazine ones e.g: love it! , that's life, real people and take a break. I've only recently started doing this to try and win something and I won £50 cheque last week

Well hello fellow comper. I've been comping for the best part of half a century - things have changed somewhat over the years. I use the green site - can't type the name as the swear filter here doesn't like it But it's run by a bloke called Martin Lewis. There's also a fair few other web sites that list competitions too.
I enter thousands a month online, including magazine ones, and I also subscribe to various puzzle magazines, which offer prizes too. There are far more people entering comps now. I used to win a prize a day pretty much up until a few years ago, but now its more like one every month or so.
There's a 'what have you won thread' in the comping section here. Feel free to add your wins there. Its nice to see what people have won.
If you need any tips or pointers for comping, just yell. You've started just in time to get into the swing of things before advent competition madness starts

I'm looking forward to the advent competitions. I've only had one decent win all year and that was a collection of Erborian skincare products. It really is a lot harder to win anything than it used to be.

Free postcode lottery is one of the best online, no catches, they make their money from the ads on the site. There are several different prizes each day and the main one often gets up towards a grand if it's not claimed for a while. I had one (small) win last year.

I love entering competitions. I have won quite a lot also and some really good prizes. I've won some just for making a comment on a page, that they liked. I love the buzz of getting an email that says "Congratulations" lol. I won the facebook selfie comp, don't think it is around anymore though.
