I think that's it, I am not expecting anything else this month! Although fingers crossed I might win something!

I'm about to start going to a sewing group which concentrates on remaking what you already have - it's about a 20 minute bus ride away from me in Camberwell, so I'm already pondeing (without even having been yet!) setting something up closer to home. Might there be something near you?I'm sure there is a general saving money thread but I can't find it. I don't know that one saves anything by making one's own clothes these days, patterns are so expensive. I don't intend to buy any new ones at my time of life. I was going to cut out a circle skirt today but I may have miscalculated the amount of material I need. I can always make a half-circle skirt but will have to rejig the waistline. I'll leave it till tomorrow now because I'd rather work by natural daylight than artificial light. My Mum died more than 30 years ago and thinking about things I took to the charity shop, there was an odd (to me) thing that I didn't really know the purpose of. I know now that it was a mini ironing board so I could probably have used it for ironing jacket sleeves had I known its purpose. Sewing, knitting and crochet - I can do them but I'm a dabbler exert not an and I can go some while without doing anything. If anyone still darns their socks (I do sometimes) apparently you can use a light bulb as an improvised darning mushroom. As for earnings I've a few dribs and drabs on GPT and survey sites but am under the amount where I can cash out.
