Happens so often. I'm still owed about £3,000 for an opera contract in Italy at an actual opera house in 1999. I'll never see it. My then agent had to give up as it would have bankrupted them to chase it any further. It took me getting on for 10 years to financially recover from that one, as I had to take out credit cards and loans to survive.

Someone remind me why I freelance again?
