Has anyone worked out if the changes to the rewards system at GTC is positive or negative for us? There doesn't seem to be anything to compare the new 'currency' with. I would imagine everything will come out equal but it may not and if anyone has built up a little bank of funds in GTC it may be best to cash out now before its converted. Anyone know any more?

Summer 2017 is bringing lots of exciting changes for GlobalTestMarket and this is an important update. Our incentive plan, MarketPoints will be discontinued from the 25th July and will be replaced by our new plan called LifePoints. This will bring bigger, better and faster opportunities for being rewarded and this is just the beginning as we continue to create a better experience for you.

In the coming months, we will be creating new and exciting ways for you to share opinions relating to various aspects of your life while being rewarded with LifePoints. Our new mobile app is being built and it’s looking good – keep a look out for when it’s launched!

What's the big change?
Instead of MarketPoints, you will be rewarded with LifePoints, which will be credited to your account in the same way as before, but the LifePoints rewards catalogue has been enhanced to enable you to redeem your LifePoints sooner.

Any existing MarketPoints will be converted to LifePoints, at the following conversion rate:

1 MarketPoint = 3.32 LifePoints

100 MarketPoints = 332 LifePoints

When is the change?
The change will take place between the 25th and 27th July. You’ll see the conversion of your MarketPoints into LifePoints in your account history. Any surveys completed before this date will be credited at the old MarketPoints rate.

What happens next?
Once your MarketPoints are converted to LifePoints, you will be able to redeem them for a wide range of great rewards in our catalogue. Any newly completed surveys will be rewarded with LifePoints. However, for a few days while the change is taking place, the catalogue of rewards will not be available. Please refer to ourHelpCentrefor additional information.

Once the changeover to LifePoints is completed, we will let you know.
Thank you,

The GlobalTestMarket Team

It's not obvious, but I would hope that life points will be worth the same as market points. I can't see anything in the FAQ to confirm that though. Hopefully we will be able to redeem at lower point values. At the moment, we have to have a minimum amount of 1000 points, before we can redeem anything, even if it is for less than 1000 points, which has never made sense to me.
I've just cashed out £40 of points and am waiting for it to go through.

I think it's all going to depend on what the 'new improved reward catalogue' includes, if paypal gets dropped or becomes more expensive under the new system I'll probably bin them off but i'll be aiming to cash out before the end of the month in any event.

Haven't figured out yet whether the new system is going to be any good or not. Just depends what the cash out level is and if they keep the PayPal cash payments or not. If it is a rewards catalogue like it is now hopefully they won't remove the cash option completely. As far as minimum payout hopefully it would end up being a bit lower or redone so you can actually redeem 100 point rewards at 100 points rather than having to wait until you get 1000 points before you can get anything.
Anywzy just in case it ends up being no good once the new system is in place I have cashed out my £30 which I received quicker than normal.
It will be interesting to see if there are any big improvements and what. They are redoing their app too so hopefully that will end up being better than their old one which wasn't any use at all once the new system is all in place.

Hi, i found a thread on a different site where some people were changed to lifepoints back in april - perhaps in a different country. Here's the link, on page two they're talking about the changes. They still had all the same reward options i believe, however for them 1 marketpoint was 5 lifepoints, and the cash out minimum was 4000 lifepoints which worked out at less than marketpoints. They had issues with the amount of LP per survey but I think a lot of that was the marketpoints not correctly being changed to lifepoints at that point...

I'm still a bit worried that we'll be rewarded less than the equivalent we get now per survey, but at least the rewards stayed the same for them

I see that they have converted everything over to Life Points now and the Rewards Catalogue is available. You now need a minimum of 3000 Life Points to redeem for rewards rather than 1000 Market Points as it used to be. PayPal is still an option and different amounts but £30 worth of PayPal is 3450 points. Was only 1028 Market Points when I redeemed last under the old Market Points system.
So higher amounts though the surveys seem to be worth a few more Life Points than they were as Market Points. Still not allot though so it is going to take allot longer and allot more surveys to reach the 3000 minimum needed.
So looks like overall the change is for the worse.

I had around 843 Marketpoints, which was around £23.29 based on 181 points making £5. I now have 2799 Lifepoints, which is worth around £24.33 based on 3450 = £30 Paypal.
I don't think the actual value has changed much, however, presumably some of the surveys will be worth 20 or 30 Lifepoints, which is dire compared to the old Marketpoints.

We shall see I guess!

The surveys have become allot more sporadic so far since they changed over to their new Life Point system.
Hopefully it will pick up again shortly.

Had only just started on global test market before they switched to life points, but was finding it a good site. Since the change though I'm struggling, seem to get a lot less surveys available and seem to be lucky to qualify for one a day?! How is everyone else getting on?

Less surveys.
Less points per survey.

Can't find the app on the app store.

Good update all round :)

Yes I am also finding there are less surveys since the new Life Points System.
A real pain now with the new system since his you need 3000 points rather than 1000 points minimum to redeem.
I am going to see how long it take me to reach my next redemption as I have over 1000 points that were converted to the new system so want to get to the 3000 so I can cash out and see how long it takes. Under the old system I could cash out out roughly every 2 months as I reached the 1000 minimum needed under the old system though cashed out 1087 which was £30.00 PayPal.
Just so far hardly anything and some days no surveys at all so at the moment it is going to take allot longer to even earn 1000 points than it used to.
In which case once I have got to the 3000 minimum I will just cash out and then unsubscribe/remove my Account.
Maybe it will pick up again or maybe GTM just don't have the amount of surveys that they used to have.
Pity as it had been a good earned under the old system with plenty of surveys available.

It seems there are fewer surveys but that appears to be across all of the survey sites I currently subscribe too. Might be a summer downtime.

Qucik heads up - avoid survey 513548 (about online payment methods). The final screen gives an option to join a community group (for 7 days). I opted not too and lo-and-behold I didn't get my LifePoints it defaulted to 'screen out'.

It's now showing to me that you need a minimum of 2000 points to cash out :)

They've obviously had complaints about how long it takes to get to 3000
