Help with British Gas

I know this is a long shot, but where can you get decent help for a utility company ie British Gas. Their customer services seem to be all over the place with my account and aren't acting very logically or professionally. Nutshell is they seem to think I have consumed a vast amount of electricity but can't be clear about how they've measured this or even what I owe them. I am trying to deal with them amicably and pay a minimum amount but they want to take the whole lot and anyone I speak or write to has atrocious English. Know it's not the forte of this forum but would really appreciate someone savvy and knows the secret password to someone in the company who knows what they're on about?? I won't tell anyone promise!

If you search for a website called the Complaining Cow run by Helen Dewdney, You will find lots of information on how to complain and get a result. Also on the drop down list at the top of her site For Consumers>How to contact a CEO to complain, there is some useful information and also a link near the bottom of the page on how to contact the CEO. If you start to make yourself a nuisance with the CEO's office, they usually direct you to someone that can actually help.

If I don't seem to be getting anywhere with a company, I find a CEO or other senior manager on LinkedIn and start on them. They don't like being contacted by the plebs, so I've never failed yet to be pushed to the front of the queue or sometimes, said senior will deal with my query direct. You may have to start a 30-day premium trial in order to make contact but that's easily cancelled when you've finished.

youre are p****ing in the wind on the British gas live chat. I found that if you click the 'make a complaint' link, - I did this and within a few days I got a call a phone call from the customer services seeing if they could resolve the issue before it went to the actual complaint dept.
