My god I hate this time of year

I have car/house/home all to do in the same month

Making sure you get the best deal (cash back aside) is just a full time job in itself

There must be some horror stories out there....

We used to have a multicar policy with Admiral. The first year we saved quite a bit but when the renewal cam through i got a few quotes and it was coming out cheaper with Admiral if we had separate policies! I called them and got the cheaper price but this year it came through very expensive and even though the compare sites where showing admiral as cheaper than their renewal price for us the wouldn't match it so we went elsewhere!

I am already have a nightmare with the car one

Someone is claiming I hit them back in October last year (I didn't BTW). And because of that my renewal price is up and I can't really leave as they are STILL waiting for the 3rd party to say what it is I am actually meant to have done..

grrrr...

Tell me about it.

Got home insurance and contents renewal yesterday as well and that has gone up by a couple of quid each month.

Am hoping I can maybe find a deal at the same price but via topcashback so I can at least crawl some of that back.

Having a hell of a week trying to juggle here. We are having a restructure where I work and I need to get my application form done as handed in by Monday..... Everything comes at once

Inspired by this ( ;D ) I decided to get a quote for my buildings & contents insurance (which is due early March) when I logged into my Lloyds account.

Saved £17 per month AND get £50 cash back after 70 days.

Result!

I really am baffled by the way these insurance companies work, I don't think i'm stupid but I really don't get it

We were paying £600 for our car insurance we went through the complete year with no incidents and didn't phone the insurance company once.

So renewal time, I though this will be a quick call just give them a ring, tell them nothing has changed and everything will stay as it is, but to my horror the lady tells me she needs to go through some questions with me, and at the end tells me and I quote " I have some excellent news Mr Porter you have come in favourably and your policy will cost just £1050 per year" and i kid you not that is what she said.
Well when I had finished laughing I explained that we had had no accidents etc for the previous 12 mths so why cant I continue to pay the £600
"Ah well Mr Porter that price is for new customers only" my reply was and im sure you can guess "Well thank you for your time I shall go and be a new customer else where then"

And that is what we do every year now, is sign up with someone new, most of the times your no claims come with you so its the cheapest way we have found.

Cheers
Mark

I never go for cheapest on insurances. I always study the extent of the cover and go for the best as long as it's not too expensive! This is particularly so on Contents Insurance where the total cover usually would go nowhere near covering all your posessions!!!!
