I did it for the first couple of years and by then I had paid £104 and won £82 I decided to give it up. Friends and I keep saying we will start doing the Irish lottery as the odds are supposed to be better, but as yet we have not got round to it.

This thread has reminded me of a friend's wedding invite...
They'd set up home together beforehand and had all they needed, so asked for their wedding gifts to be lottery tickets. As they'd won the lottery of love, they wanted to see if they could win the £ lottery too. So I duly bought them a fistful of tickets (by far the most I've spent on the lotto in one go).

Suffice to say the groom later recommended that no one else try to mimic this tactic.

Thinking about it, this was a few years ago when a ticket was still a quid, and long before the lottery app existed and QR codes were printed on the tickets. They must have spent their first evenings as newly-weds poring over thousands of scraps of paper!

I've not played for years but many many years ago I won over £100 I think with 4 numbers. I don't feel like playing anymore as didn't win for years but am now thinking of trying out free competitions to win cash.
