Well, I thought I would keep a diary now, so I can see how I'm doing and remind myself of the errors I have made along the way.
I seem to have had a few hiccups, often due to not being sufficiently good with technology.
Last weekend I was trying to do my Ladbrokes free £50 bet, and because I had mistakenly filtered horses out of the oddsmatcher I picked a football match which was nearly a week away. I didn't realise until afterwards when I could have had a result the same day. Never mind, it seemed to work OK.
Today I have done my free Betway offer, and the match is today, so that's good.
I haven't done several of the beginner offers on PA as yet, partly because they ask for a card payment and partly because they were for other exchanges. There was such a good guide to betfair, but not much about how to use Smarkets. I must sit down and have a look at it.
I seemed to lose £30 from my calculations at one point, but then realised it was a payment from William Hill of £30, who they took a week to tell me they needed more ID. I then sent 5 different photos of ID over several days which were all not clear enough. I finally got my payout yesterday. Yesterday I got an email from them with bet £20 get £10 free bet. I tried to claim it but then it said I was not eligible for it. I wonder if it's because they found me nuisance!
I haven't made any bets where I needed a card payment. I just can't bring myself to use a credit card or my debit card. I applied for a ffrees account, but when it came my name was spelt Janert instead of Janet! I must have spelt it wrong when I applied. I've been trying to contact the customer services, and have requested an amended card.
So when I checked my MB figures this morning the total was £234.44. I started with about £100, so I am definitely in profit. I've been cautious and probably thought about it a bit too much. I hope to do a bit better as I go on.
Otherwise, I have £20 to withdraw from prolific, £20 from panelbase, nearly £20 from Swagbucks, and some amounts from Whatusersdo, Roamier and 360. I'm not getting on too well with whatusersdo as they always seem to come when I am at work or to be about something I don't know about like football or something creepy like "how wild is your sex life""....maybe not.

What's wrong with using a debit card on bookie websites?? All the transactions are protected by verified by visa anyway

I just think the bank would disapprove. I remember hearing that when they are approving mortgages they ask people about takeaways and so on, so what would they think about betting?
Possibly irrational I know. I was also hoping to do it all from one place i.e. PayPal to make it more straightforward. I see now that won't be possible.

Yeah that won't be possible at all

I would suggest just opening a separate bank account (a basic one) and using that for all MBing stuff

It's what many people (myself included) have done as that way it's being done away from your main account

I use a separate bank account for MB stuff and use the Debit Card linked to that with no problems. I have done loads of transactions through that and I have not had any trouble using my Debit Card. The odd bookie does accept PayPal and I have used that occasionally. Trouble with using PayPal you can only have one Personal Account which I use to receive payments for everything else and I want to keep It MB stuff totally separate.
Just using a Debit Card is easier and I find payments from the exchanges and the bookies are fast to reach my Account anyway. I use Nationwide and have a FlexDirect and that works well.
Once you have done MB for awhile you will have built up enough money to not have to keep waiting for payments to come in before you can do the next offer/reload so it becomes allot easier.

Disappointing day yesterday. I did my Betway sign-up offer. My first bet won and my second lost. My account was listed as £15, with £30 bonus. When I spoke to the customer services they say I have to do 8 more bets. This seems like a lot of effort for a free £30 bet, and quite complicated. I didn't realise I was doing such a complicated offer, and I don't think I will do it. I can't decide whether to just withdraw the £15, but will that cause any issues with Betway? At present I am effectively £15 down.
I am going to keep trying, and read the Ts&Cs more carefully in future, I suppose.

Did the PA description of the betway offer not explain that could happen if your initial bet wins at the bookie or loses at the exchange

No it didn't say that in the description. When I looked at it on the PA forum it seems like some other folks have had the same thing.
It has knocked my confidence a bit, but I'm going to carry on.

I have had a couple of weeks lull from money-making, trying to get another current account sorted. It seemed to take ages but is sorted now. I am now going back to the beginners offers on PA, which I couldn't do originally.
I am really puzzled by the bet360 £200 offer, where you need £1000 in your funds. Does this mean you should have made that much on the beginners offers? If so, then I haven't been doing it right.
Never mind, I will wait until I can do that one.
I have cashed out £25 from Swagbucks and another £20 from prolific. Very nice thank you.

I waited a little longer and went back to that offer, I've done that on a few that seemed hard/needed a big bankroll and am getting through them still not even though I've made £15,000+ (lots of nice wins!)

[member=4180]Hollyhock64[/member] I still haven't done bet365 offer. Unlikely to make £1000+ from beginner offers without reloads or wins on casino etc hence it says if you don't have the bankroll, move to others and come back to that later :) You are doing well !

It's been a frustrating couple of weeks. I was determined to get cracking with MBing, but have been doing 2 offers, both of which need "high profile football matches", and there don't seem to have been any apart from England v Scotland. I am doing the Boyle sign-up and am wondering whether I could bet on horse racing instead. I keep doubting that I can make any money from it due to being too cautious. I think I will try to plan which offers I will do on each day, rather than trying to decide on the day when time is limited. The larger offers go slower as there is less money in the exchange for other offers. Some of it is due to limited time before work, I tend to have about an hour. I seem to spend it reading through the offers and deciding why I can't do them. Finding a match when the bookies is not on the oddsmatcher is difficult and I am not so confident in doing it. I have done it and it went ok, but still.

I feel the same as you about Matched Betting, I keep meaning to go back to it, I've had a few weeks break from it now. I have made some money but I don't seem to be able to get into it like others do. I think practise is the key and getting into a good routine and building up your confidence. As long as you are making money it doesn't matter how fast you do it or whether you make as much as other people. I've decided to not put pressure on myself about it and if I have time to do a bit and make some money that is great, if I don't do any it doesn't matter. Good luck with it and I look forward to reading how well you are doing.

The more you do it, the faster and easier it becomes - trust me. I've been doing it for just over a year and prior to starting MBing I had literally zero experience with betting - never placed a bet in my life, don't really follow any sport or have any knowledge, spent an hour reading and re-reading instructions, felt nervous of doing the wrong thing...and so on. Now I comfortably do 5 offers in about 10 minutes. It comes with practice, you'll be fine! Don't worry about moving slowly...go at your own pace and feel comfortable :)

Thanks [member=3720]clairecc[/member] [member=2431]Uhhhhh[/member] [member=1]Jon[/member]. I am trying to place a bet most days. I did a more complicated one with Leobet yesterday, where you have to work out increased odds. It took me a long time to keep checking it and the match is not until the 19th, so will have to wait a couple of days before I see. I still always expect that I will have made a mistake, but at present I am pleased that I did it and wasn't deterred by the more complicated bet. I was worried as the increased odds didn't show when I was placing the bet, but am telling myself it will be reflected if my bet wins.
I suppose I am making progress as the beginners bets now seem straightforward, but at first they seemed complicated.
"Bingo". Is that an encouraging observation, or a suggestion? I haven't looked at the bingo section as yet. I have always thought of bingo as an old folks game, more about entertainment. I@ll take a look a tit.
It's a worrying time financially. One of my closest work colleagues has been sacked from my NHS job. I am so worried about her as she lives alone with a mortgage and had a work car. I just don't know how she is going to manage. I can't see her doing anything like this as she is so terrified of computers. Also my husband's hours have been reduced so his wage has dropped by a third. Thanks Sainsburys.
It is nice to ahev a feeling of doing somethng posivite, even if it is only a small amount. So, once again, thanks very much.

Well, my first thought is that I should check my posts a bit more carefully in future to avoid Freudian slips.
I have several bets on today and the matches all happen today, so no waiting around for the result, which is good. I realised that I had cocked up a bet with a profit boost and the very clever [member=2431]Uhhhhh[/member] talked me through how to fix it, so I should just make a small loss. It has made me think that it can be possible to sort it out when you do make a mistake, which should make it less frightening.
I have been trying to mainly use the bank rather than PayPal, as it can get confusing with other payments coming out of PayPal.
I had a look at the bingo video at PA, and my main thought was "what the hell is going on?" I will watch it again and hope to get to grips with it. It seems to me that you can lose money with it, but if you do enough you may win.

I know I'm new here but I'm not new to earning online, particularly not to matched betting which I've been doing for almost two years now. I realise your post was a couple of weeks ago but I'd definitely avoid horses with the boyles signup, they're really quick to restrict accounts and it's definitely best to go for high profile football with these. If you can't use the oddsmatcher for some of the bookies, you can post in the "Help finding your bets" thread. I'd also recommend "watching" the "How to earn £300 a month part time" thread as that's updated daily and if you watch it you'll get a notification when someone adds a comment. Good luck and don't give up, it's definitely worth sticking at it!

Well, Phew! I have just finished the 138 bet sign-up, where I had to rollover my £150 win x3. When 2 £50 bets placed on the same day won and I had £190 in the bookies I was panicking and thought I wouldn't be able to get it back and was again thinking "this is not for me". I managed to build up a little in the exchange with some William Hill free bets and withdrew from prolific, so I was able to carry on. I decided to do it one £50 bet per day, which seemed to work. It has helped me to understand the implications of doing a rollover with help from [member=2431]Uhhhhh[/member]) and I will try some more. It remains slow going, trying to build up enough money to be able to do as many of the offers as I would like, and being put off by some needing too much liability or seeming too complicated.
Thanks for the advice [member=4820]mymoneycottage[/member]. I will look at that £300 section.
I have had a few surveys from Brand Institute, where you earn $15, so far it seems to mainly be saying what you think about names for new medications. I don't know whether my efforts have been accepted, but it was quite interesting.
I plan to place more bets tomorrow and hope gradually increase my kitty.
