Don't know how much money I'll be able to put aside this month, as I will be at - guess where! - the snooker, plus a big birthday bash, PLUS we've just got some new kittens and I want to bond with them as much as I can before going away. Bit of a drain, but we've decided to make the Snooker Fund more of an all-purpose Holiday Fund now. Not everything has to be snooker!

Anyway, our Masters snooker holiday turned out to be a minor disaster; we went to five days'-worth of matches, but the atmosphere at Ally Pally (i.e. going from a freezing cold atrium to a boiling hot arena and then back again loads of times) made my friend's already bad cold worse, so we skipped the last three days. The bad news was, tickets are non-refundable. The better news was, I bumped into an old friend of mine (I met him through karaoke nights he put on, but he actually owns a snooker club and has coached the likes of Stuart Bingham and Ali Carter), and he took the tickets and managed to sell them on for me. Lost some money on them, but he actually got me more than I asked for for them, bless him - £200! Which is going straight back into the fund!

Plus some change drops of £3, £2.60, £9.62, £3.40 and £3.85 makes...

What a great story. It really has been a rollercoaster of emotion! If you have saved the money and it is something you really want to do then you should treat yourself. I've found that without a goal in sight, money can often just disappear as you spend X on a meal out, or a computer game, or use it to pay a bill. Make sure your hard work IS rewarded.
