You set your own rate. The faster the speed connection the better and that's more important than anything else. Customers can tell if your trying to blag it, so the ones who do very well are the ones who commit to it fully. Having different uniforms is great too , so you can have different personalities ... men aren't interested in how pretty your face is really and men actually like the curves of an average woman. The experience needs to be real and you don't need to put on some crazy performance. A lot of men would prefer to watch say a real couple have sex than two porn stars ... they can relate to it more. You have be natural with it, anything over the top and it breaks the illusion.
You can earn between 60 to 200 quid a week usually but thats every day , not just some days. Not sure if they pay by cheque still anymore but when i was doing it , you had to pay the fee at cash convertors everytime.

My advice is to try it and see, as that's the only way you will know. Remember there are girls with top of the range webcams on there , the ones that senses movement etc, so they get most of the customers. If a guy logs in and logs out straight away, its usually because of the internet speed or you look nothing like your pics.

I've just watched a documentary about sex chat operators on 4-OD (factual section). It gave the impression that the women made loads of money - no mention of small wages, just how they paid for their nice houses with their earnings. It was about phone sex operators. I think they said they were paid about £1 a minute, but some were higher than that, and they had regulars that would call up for hour long chats on a regular basis too. It made it seem appealing, I can imagine it got a lot of people interested.

I've thought about doing adult work but I'm not sure my teenage daughter would be very happy about it! I'd quite happily do chat via rooms or text but no calls or webcam! Also I think I'd want to get myself a decent PC rather than a laptop that my daughter can log into. I don't like the idea of her accidentally finding something she shouldn't!

Pay - crap. You set your own rate per minute, anything from 50p upwards. You're then charged a connection fee (the caller doesn't get your number, they ring a number, put your number in and it forwards to your phone) which is a percentage of what you earn, then when you go to withdraw you get charged another fee. I ended up getting around £80 for £150 worth of calls.

Hours - whatever you want! You just logged in whenever and set your status to available. I'm an early bird, so 6-8am was always busy for me.

How did you get involved - I wanted to write a blog series. I just went on to Adult Chat and registered.

The realities of the job - you don't get paid a lot, and it is mentally draining to be honest. You never know who is on the end of the phone and what they want. Someone once called me by my real name (which of course I took care never to use) and kept calling me, which really freaked me out. Luckily I'd reached their minimum withdrawal amount so I just took my money and ran.

I've not been tempted again. It isn't for me. I think there's money to be made by creating a version of Adult Work, where you act as a referral website connecting callers and talkers, but I don't know enough about it to even contemplate it.

The fact is, in the adult services industry it's often the case that the more you stand out, the better you can do. I'm pretty much blend-into-the-crowd looking but I know I could do quite well if I put more time and effort in. Trouble is, the busiest time is 11pm-2am and I like my sleep way too much ;D .

It can be a money maker but it is not very predictable. One day I earned £400 in the space of 3 hours and then the next I was logged on all day and made £10. Swing and roundabouts.

If you do, do this then there are some little tips that will help you.

Research on other forums like saafe and stripperweb. Great info is out there for you. Busy times I have found are 7am-9am, 11am-2pm, 5pm-6pm, 10pm-1am. I have had busy periods on other times of the day but I do find these times to be best.

Clients can only give you feedback if they have been in your room for 4 mins or longer. If they come into room all rude and demanding feel free to kick them out. Your room your rules. Personally I wind them up for at least a minute before kicking them out might as well get something from them.

Another string to your bow if you don't mind having this type of stuff of yourself on the internet is clips and private gallery. I make about a 3rd of my income through these although I know that this is definitely not for everyone.

I hope it's ok to ask this in this thread. I have recently given up webcamming on Adultwork, an end of an era as I'd been doing it since 2009. Due to the amount of time I did it I have quite a bit of stuff to get rid of: toys, underwear, uniforms, outfits etc - all used. Does anyone know anywhere I can sell items like this? I'm 99% sure it's pretty much limited to Adult eBay & Adult Work's marketplace but you guys are such fonts of knowledge that I thought it was worth asking ;D

Just wasn't worth the hassle and I was doing it part time , earning between 60 to 120 . Adult work is good for one thing and one thing only.
