No ground being made again.. feels more like gambling every single day.

I've consistently lost 30-40 quid playing blackjack for a Ladbrokes offer every week for about 3 months now (And this is supposed to be low variance). This whole thing is now 1 step forward and 3 steps back just awaiting a big win.

I know how you feel - January has started poor for me - doing lots of Accas but only just breaking even. I keep telling myself its a long game this.

The game has changed and it's nothing like it used to be. People can say what they want about there still being money to be made... that's easy when your accounts are less than 2 years old.

I genuinely feel this is more of a smash and grab thing now, get in and get the new customer offers but after that there is little to keep you going in terms of sports offers.

It takes ALOT more effort now to make a few quid and most of the sports offers now require certain triggers and are pretty poor value. I think back to last season when i had 3/4 standard bet 20 get 10 free every week.. now it's bet 20 and get a free bet if you team goes 7 up, hits the bar and then loses.

The real money is in casino offers.. but those are changing too and it's now very common to go on LONG losing streaks before getting any kind of return. Yeah you can stick to the low buy ins but for the time your putting in are you really getting any worth?

If i worked it out, this now pays well below minimum wage for me... in fact working it out i'm looking at around £2 an hour this month.......

DO HORSEY REFUNDS!!!!!

Those are a distant memory. Not to mention, few and far between these days. The only one i can get in is Fred on the rare occasion they run it and i'm not very good at picking second place there.

Gubbed from them all apart from 365 and i'm preserving that account by staying away from the 4/1 offer.

I would tread carefully with Cheltenham this year...the way it's all going I think it's just going to invite a lot of restrictions, especially if you pick a winner or two.

Nothing has had my accounts restricted quite like horses. I don't even bother with them anymore.

See last year it was half MBing and half gambling alongside [member=143]auntygeek[/member] as we kept betting on Ruby Walsh winners!

I agree. I rarely do horses anytime I have done horses in any of my accounts even with regularly mugging and keeping to low odds like 4-5 max those are the Accounts I have got restricted from. The Accounts where I have just basically stuck to football are all ok.
It is definitely the betting on Horse Racing that is the problem.
Unless you are like Jon or Katykicker which do lots of Casino/slot Offers so are very profitable to the bookies and therefore can get away with doing lots of of Horse Racing offers without any problems.
[member=2431]Uhhhhh[/member] do you still do the EW horse racing offers on your gubbed and even your unrestricted Accounts?
Has that caused you any problems with your Accounts that aren't restricted or are you staying away from horse racing offers completely?

Is your skybet account all fully de-gubbed?

[member=117]Blackpepper1[/member] I only ever use EW racing on accounts already restricted, but yeah it caused my Stan James to be actually fully shut down and closed - I won on a horse at 4.2 and they closed my account straightaway. One or two others have been restricted further so I'm not able to stake more than £10ish on Unibet and Betvictor, but otherwise it's been alright.

I don't do horses at all anymore - I got busier with work and also I realised that I'd be sat at the computer for hours and hours on a Saturday and the offers have got so poor (i.e. having to hit silly specifications in order to hit a refund, and so on) that I'd be making less than minimum wage. Hitting one or two refunds for all that time invested was just not worth it for me personally. Also, I felt like even with low qf losses I'd still be watering down my profit if I had to take 5-6 qf losses and only got one refund.

It's very difficult to MB well now, I think. Hopefully it'll pick up again later this year, but it's certainly not what it used to be. I guess the bookies are trying to recoup losses from last season so the offers just are not as good or straightforward anymore.

No it isn't.
Just found one week I could not do the Skybet Offer anymore so think what happened Skybet forgot to remove that from my Account/opt me out from the Skybet Club. Suddenly they realised a few weeks later and now I am fully restricted.
So haven't been back since. Not worth it as it is very rare to get ungubbed once you are gubbed.
Not too worried it was only a £5 free bet so not exactly really profitable.
I have stopped worrying about getting gubbed anymore if it happens it happens all I can do is to do a mug bet alongside each offer, keep to no more than 5 max on odds and stick to major events.
Doing my best but if bookies don't find me profitable enough then that can't be helped.
It is just one big disadvantage/negative thing about MB in that Accounts will get restricted eventually and therefore limiting the amount you can make.
Doing Accas anyway using Acca Catcher and had a few profitable Lay All Accas that have made me profit even without losing one leg and not getting the refund. Just sticking to one a week with any one bookie so hopefully that won't cause any problems.

Sounds like EW Racing can be a bit iffy too. I know what you mean on the refunds and like you I don't want to be on the computer all weekend trying to hit an actual refund and anyway I don't want to risk any more Accounts getting gubbed.
I have mugged and everything but it doesn't make any difference to keeping your Account from getting restricted if you do any horse offers or even if you bet bet on horses without any offers the Account still gets restricted eventually.
I agree it is getting increasingly difficult to make money from MB less easy offers more jumping though hoops to try and hit a refund if such and such happens so bookies are definitely not giving much away.
Still it is easy money and anything is better than nothing and it is tax free so it is still worthwhile.
Hopefully as you say it will pick up again.
One thing I would do if starting out with MB now would be to just avoid Horse Racing altogether. Pretty sure I would still have most of my Accounts now if not every single one if I had done that all along.

Absolutely. I keep saying that...just avoid horse racing for as long as possible, don't make it a focus on your account when it's new. Not only that, but the fact that it's just a volatile market to handle when you're new to betting in general. All makes me very nervous to see people who are making mistakes because they jump into horse betting straight off the bat.

Matched betting is only 'risk-free' when you know what you're doing. Otherwise it is potentially very costly.

I keep doing offers now and then, as you said it is worth keeping it ticking over when you can because every little helps towards my savings.

Today's Acca Dilemma. Last leg of Billie H Acca. Last leg is Barca @ home in the cup. Acca has a £2.45 profit already. Do I underlay to bump the profit to £10 and risk most of the free bet profit (I'd have £4 left at normal redemption rates), or do I fully lay and hope they don't win?

I agree that it's not too good at the minute. Whether it's a long term change in bookie offers or just a quiet period remains to be seen but there's hardly anything I've found worth going for aside from accas and I just haven't been bothered to do them since Christmas. A lot of the offers are refund-based or rubbish ones like £1 per goal scored.

Hopefully it will pick up soon but for now, I'm not expecting to make much in the way of profit this month between the offers being poorer and my lack of enthusiasm to get stuck in. I've mostly just focussed on keeping a few mugs going on the accounts that would usually expect me to bet regularly.
