I've not been on here for a few weeks, so thought I'd check in.

My profits have stagnated recently at around the £850 mark, I got nothing from the extra golf places, so it was all QL for me last week. I've also been trying for extra horse places and they've not come through either. I have done a few refund lock in accas so at least I've had some practice before the football season starts.

Only decent thing that's happened was getting £52 from a Ladbrokes casino offer (Superman) and £25 from the daily free spins from the Mr Green signup.

I've also been gubbed by PP and BFSB and by Boylesports during the sign-up offer. PP will now be arb-central lol.

I started at the end of April this year and I've signed up to 31 bookies, my starting pot was £80 and I've added another £120 to that when I've had money from TopCashBack for sign-ups or from other things.

Once you've done all the 'easy' sign ups then you're on to the ones which are more than bet x get y, where you have to wager your winnings from the free cash they give you - if it wins at the bookies. I've recently done Bwin and SportingBet.

I know it is frustrating when you first start, there are posts on this thread of me saying the same as you :) Once you get about £500 in the exchange it makes things easier as you can do more than one offer at once or place bets with higher odds.

Oh wow April that is not too long ago , you have been working hard .

Gubbed at Paddy power darn that is a shame , i am guessing you were following the mug betting procedure .

Sorry one more question , how much time do you put in generally part/full time?

I only do this part time as a I have a full time job and I don't really do it at weekends as I'm usually busy. I don't feel that I have made that much when I see what others have done in the same time period.

I did very little mug betting with PP TBH, if you go on to the PA forum you will see that a lot of people have been gubbed despite mug betting. I think it is more important to not do obvious things like doing a qualifying bet at 2.0 and then sticking the free bet on a horse at huge odds. Lots of people advocate doing mug betting, so it's up to the individual really.

I probably spend a couple of hours a day looking at matched betting, what the offers are etc.

Anyone doing the ladbrokes darts offer? I'm confused as when you calculate using SNR and there is some liquidity on betfair to lay, the calculation is often in green, indicating a profit? So am I right in thinking that it's always best to lay if you can as regardless of the outcome a small profit is made and there's a free bet if your back bet loses?? Or am I getting this all wrong??

Hi @Lizziew24 not seen the offer but I assume the reason for getting a profit on the calculator is because you are doing it as an SNR bet. Did PA or similar tell you to do it this way?

So is there an actual profit to be made by laying the bet? Because if that was the case then surely this would be the way forward during such offers that span a few days?? But as I say, it's likely my misunderstanding!!

OMG! I've taken the next step. Qualified for my free Coral bets yesterday. Just been back on and laid on a horse called Treasure Chest in the 19.10 at Ballinrobe. I've checked, checked and checked again. A little bit cross that some of my money hadn't cleared to enable me to go for higher odds but, hey ho, this is only my very first time. Plenty of time for increasing the amount laid as I get into it. I might need an updated laptop though as mine is sooooo slow.

So ... My horse came in 5th and I appear to have £35.63 in Betfair - which I figure is better than having it in Coral? I even watched the race on the mini screen lol. It's very satisfying.

OddsMonkey have just launched Betfair Integration - this means you can place a lay bet at Betfair from the OddsMonkey OddsMatcher without having to go to a separate Betfair tab/window (or even be logged in to Betfair).

Hopefully they will extend it to Smarkets in the future.
