Please help. I wanted to do the Betfair bet £10 get £10 offer on the Royal Ascot but didn't realise that it had to be a back bet on the exchange and placed a lay bet. Do you think I could have both a back and lay bet on the same horse on Betfair Exchange?

EDITED:
Just realised this: A lay bet against your qualifying bet will void this promotional offer. Cashed-out bets do not qualify for this offer.

Oh well, hope no one else makes the same mistake. If you want to get the Betfair offer, don't place any lay bets on the 14:30 race.

I wouldn't do that personally.

I would just place the backbet now at a different bookie than Betfair Sportsbook

Busy morning with Royal Ascot!
Got around 10 offers on so far :D
I'd have more on, but I've got around £200 tied up in a rollover at the moment on Energybet
Plus I've started mugging after reading a few guides. Got a few mug ACCA's going on too.

Anyone else got the Betfair Exchange email about an 100% refund offer on any Ascot race up until tomorrow?

I presume I have to 'bet' on the Exchange and 'lay' at Smarkets for this and that if my horse wins I get double the winnings back and if it loses I get my stake (up to £25 back). Can someone please confirm that this is correct?

Also, @Jon would I be best betting on the favourite or second favourite, and using a race with fewer or higher number of riders in it?

Many thanks. Not used to doing horsey offers, ha ha!

you talking about regular horse refunds yeah?
It's just pot luck. This is flat racing thankfully so you would hope horses in the top 3 of each race would be somewhere in the mix...

Thanks @Jon
I think it is a horse refund? The email says that I get a 100% refund on any net losses up to £25, if I opt in to it. Then the t&c's below it say:

"if you place your bets as set out above, and you make a net profit across your qualifying bets in the promotional period, we will credit you with a bonus of 100% of that net profit, up to a maximum mentioned in your message."
"If you make a net loss on your qualifying bets you won't be eligible for a bonus"

So as I read it, if the horse wins I get my winnings doubled up to £25 and if it loses I get my £25 bet stake back?

I would ask on the PA forum because I think you could possibly do this setting the calc to SNR as you are you know if you lose you have got your money covered..

Not currently with PA, @Jon but thanks for suggesting it :) and for getting back to me
ah ok, ask on whatever matched betting service's forum you are using then as I'm sure you can take advantage of this offer in a risk free fashion ;)

Will try and look into it, thanks. Not with anyone at present as was struggling to get into acca's and don't really do horses so felt the monthly fee not worth it personally at present (especially with no footie for a while) plus recently moved etc.

It runs out tomorrow midnight, so I can try it tomorrow anyway. Thanks as always for your help and advice @Jon - always much appreciated :)

Decent day today but the offers are going to slow down for the rest of the week I reckon.

Betway still doing risk free first race though.

Aye it's been a good day (for a Tuesday!)

Just remember to do those mugs alongside all your horsey bets!

Don't know if anyone else hasn't signed up for Virgin Games yet but they currently have an offer on that's 21 free spins and up to £200 free play with only 4x wagering!! - This link will take you you do it - https://tinyurl.com/y9ct6xw7 (affiliate)
For some reason other links to Virgin Games seem to take you to other offers so they must have a number going on at the moment.
