So a one off might be ok..?

A one or two off should be ok.

What you mustn't do is keep loging back in and placing another bet when another arb appears.

eg. Logging in at 11am and placing bets on the 2.30, 3.35 and 5.00 races, one of which is an arb, should be ok as it just looks like normal betting.

But logging in at 11am and betting on an arb for the 2.30. Then coming back at 1pm when you find another arb for the 3.35 and placing that bet (and so on) raises a big coloured flag with flashing neon lights saying "I'm a matched better / arber" and you will get restricted.

I can’t see any trace of my lay bet in smarkets and I can’t remember what my balance was beforehand. What will have happened to the lay bet?? I should know this stuff by now!!

When a goal goes in smarkets will suspend the market and any unmatched bet will be cancelled. If you look through your statement it should say something like "Bet Cancelled (Market Halted)" In which case you got lucky this time.

When a goal goes in smarkets will suspend the market and any unmatched bet will be cancelled. If you look through your statement it should say something like "Bet Cancelled (Market Halted)" In which case you got lucky this time.

Ooooh @homie just found that in the statement. It was cancelled! So, my back bet won. £60 up there then. Could have been costly though

Free bets don't run out. we return to the same bookies over and over and over again to do reload offers

Odds fluctuate more as you get closer to an event with horse racing being a prime example. There's nothing you can do about it really.
