Re: Getting back into Mystery Shopping

It took me a while to find an MF task which I was comfortable starting with but I'll be ordering a pizza Wed night :)

I'm new to it too but found gapbuster were quite good for getting hang of the basics so they might be worth signing up to.

Enjoy the pizza, I'm sure it will taste all the better for being free :)

Re: Getting back into Mystery Shopping

I've been doing a bit of mystery shopping since husband has been out of work, he has been driving me around (when I can cluster quite a few of them on same day). He's appreciated the free food. Have 2 pub visits lined up on the same day next week ;D

I've done those [member=1595]thistle[/member] - they are VERY easy. Just don't forget to take a photo of the pizza before you eat it!

When did MarketForce get the blue bakery?

I don't remember them having them as a client before...

Re: Getting back into Mystery Shopping

I've done it a couple of times for them in the last couple of months, and have another one to do there this week. Easy money when I'm needing to buy lunch anyway.

Re. Gapbuster - I was emailed by them to do burgers in my home town urgently. I replied straight away to say I could do it. I was then texted about half an hour later to say they had an urgent burger assignment and could I do it. I texted back to say I'd emailed them confirming I could do it, and I haven't had either a text or an email from them since

Nah sure there will be a wave of travel / shopping / betting / whatever tasks soon enough

Did you apply for the £20 a time shopping tasks? - they sent emails again about them a few weeks ago

Re: Getting back into Mystery Shopping

sometimes I wonder if these things are just overloaded on the demographic of 'stay at home mum with child' and that's why people don't always hear back from things

I've had to leave mystery shopping with Gapbuster for a while.... All those frequent ******* meals had a disastrous effect on my waistline ;)

I keep getting urgent emails from them for a waistline-disaster shop in my area, but whenever I log in, it's never there. That's four times this week!

Re: Getting back into Mystery Shopping

I've recently taken a bit of a step back from these guys as a couple of assignments were refused for using contactless payment. There paperwork is a bit hefty but I did find the clause three or four pages in and I kicked myself.

Should I let pride get in the way of some urgent premium assignments in my area? :-[

I do often wonder how many shops still hire mystery shoppers nowadays as I work for a retail company and we stopped having mystery shoppers quite a while ago and moved on to asking customers just to give their feedback on our customer service for a chance to win vouchers. I've noticed a lot of other shops have started doing that now too. Maybe a cheaper alternative?

Re: Getting back into Mystery Shopping

I'm doing my first mystery shop tomorrow, eek! Pub meal. Looks nice and simple enough to start me off. The first of several I hope :)

Do people claim mileage for their mystery shops?

I put my bus tickets for expenses when doing my yearly accounts, not sure how mileage works though. I know the HMRC sets a set amount you can claim because when I ran my company I would pay mileage in accordance to their rate.
