My mum did FOTG but I don't. Does that need an invite too? I did get one through a while back but it was for my husband rather than me. He's not really interested but I suppose I could have taken it up on his behalf...

yeah that may have been what I did with someone in this house ;)

Houston, I have a problem. I don't know if anyone can help.

I'm running windows 10 and have used the transmission app several times since updating with no problems. Today, when I click it, nothing happens - it doesn't open.

I went to the shop and scan website, to do it directly and got an error message saying that there was a problem and I can't transmit and to check settings etc.

I'm going round in circles, going nowhere. I haven't changed any security settings and have changed nothing else setting wise since the last time that I transmitted.

I don't know if it's something their end, or if it's mine. Does anyone have any suggestions before I ring em for help?

I got this email a while ago

Dear Jonathan,

As you may be aware, Windows 10 has just been released. This email contains important information that you should be aware of as a ShopandScan panel member, even if you don't plan to upgrade in the near future.

Transmitting barcodes in Windows 10 can currently be done as you would usually - i.e. using either Internet Explorer (version 11) or our desktop app. You cannot currently transmit using the new browser Edge, which is now the default browser.

However, Microsoft are likely to retire Internet Explorer at some point and completely replace it with their new browser Edge. We will be issuing an updated version of our desktop app in the near future. Once you have installed it, you will no longer need to visit our website to transmit.

Please look out for an invitation to download this desktop app in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your valued contribution to our research. If you have any questions or are experiencing problems please don't hesitate to contact us.

Best wishes,

ShopandScan Team

in a nutshell

use another browser

[member=1]Jon@TheMoneyShed[/member] Yep, I had the email too. I tried a different browser - still didn't work.

[member=2295]dc222[/member] I tried deleting/re-installing the app - still doesn't work.

I've emailed them to see what they say. Hopefully I can sort it before the Sunday deadline.

I downloaded the ShopandScan app and it works fine on Windows 10. Got a survey to do earlier for 200 points only took a couple of minutes. Nice and easy. [emoji4]

I still can't get the app to work, despite uninstalling/re-installing! It was fine up until yesterday.

I did finally manage to upload via IE this morning, but it didn't go through smoothly like it normally does. The clicker sounded like a demented cricket and it took the best part of a minute to get the thank you message. I then tried to cash out and that wouldn't work either. Finally closed IE, went back in on via Firefox and cashed out no problem.

Maybe my computer, IE and shopandscan have had a falling out somehow lol.

I finally got to speak to someone about the ongoing problems that I've been having with the app not working. She said it's a known issue which is caused by Windows 10 conflicting with their software. Erm, you don't say! lol.

Upshot is, there will be an app update to fix the problem in a few weeks, but until then it's a case of uploading oldschool via IE if there is a problem.

So I have got an email while I was away

my existing way of submitting Food On The Go via text message is being taken away and from next week I need to do it via their smartphone app

they also appear to have changed the payment structure

Anyone else got this and has anyone else worked out how MORE they need to now send to get the usual £5 a week from this?

I'm going to sign up from the ShopandScan, I'm always put shopping.
I also use 2 apps called Shopitize and Checkout Smart, you just have to upload your receipt and you get money back each week if you have brought the selected items, not a lot but it all adds up over time. X

Have been with Shopandscan for about 14 years. Their customer service team have always been really helpful if I've had a problem. The points soon add up and definitely takes some of the pressure off at Christmas. It's also worth checking out the user benefits if you are buying something. We had heavily discounted Merlin passes one year, which made for very happy childdren. :D

I might end up bailing from shopandscan after Black Friday week if my Foodtogo payments have dropped from 5000 (£5) a week to a lot less

Rewards changes
We have also made the following changes to the rewards that you will receive for carrying out the Food On The Go App task. Each week you will receive:

250 points for the first occasion that you submit through the app that week.
100 points for every additional occasion that you submit purchases through the app. Up to a maximum of 40 total occasions each week will be paid for.
250 points if you tell us that you did not purchase anything by selecting the Nothing Bought option in the app at the end of the week.
