Did my first spot- the app seems to have updated though and am having problems uploading the pics - anyone else the same?

I managed to complete one of these today and upload a video, so I'm in with a chance to win

Wish me luck!

I've never had any spots near enough to make it worthwhile. The app shows 11 spots for the whole of the UK which seems a bit sparse. Do other people have much success with this?

I only ever get hungry house offers on my app and none of them are at all close to me! :-\

I have 9 spots 'near' me... the nearest is over 2 hours away.

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

I just want to leave this here to give props to the Streetspotr team.

As I posted previously I saw the Men's Shaving Products Spot on the App and was eager to get some done as you all know the jobs are few and far between on there. Anyway the Spot listed all the major shopping outlets Tesco, Boots, Sainsburys etc and as I have 4 of the required stores within 1/4 mile or less from me I reserved 4. ;D
So i busied myself visiting all of the stores that morning but when I got home to complete the Spot at home as required 3 of the Spots had disappeared from the App!! I had only the 1st Spot that I had reserved showing."Must be a glitch" I said to myself, anyway I completed the Spot and made the optional video which gives you the chance to win £25 if it's chosen as the best one.

So when done, I sat down at the computer to check emails, catch up on here and so on when I saw I had an email from the Streetspotr team which explained that unfortunately they hadn't mentioned that you can only reserve one of the Spots and so the other 3 had been "reallocated"!
Well that explained what had happened to the Spots that had disappeared from my phone. :-\
But wait, there's more!
A follow up email had been sent which apologised for the mix up and because it was their mistake they were going to pay me for the 3 Spots I had done once the one I submitted was approved by the client. Wow! ;D

So that's exactly what happened, a special one off payment of £15 was paid directly into my PayPal account for those 3 spots yesterday! Plus I was paid for the one Spot that I had completed.

A great result and I am very grateful to the Streetspotr Team for honouring the work I did for them and compensating me for their error.

So a big thumbs up to all at Streetspotr! You guys rock!
;)
Thanks.

I have the shaving one to do; other than that it wants me to order a takeaway from 200 miles away...

I also had notification of a new regional spot near me. Fantastic. Only a couple of hours away. I'll nip out shortly & do it.

Finally got something nearby; spotting toilet roll in Sainsbury's. Had to take about 30 photos and certainly got some strange looks. I thought 'Oh well. at least these people don't know me' then spotted someone from work. Unfortunately, not before she spotted me taking pictures of toilet roll packets. I really earned that fiver 8)

I signed up a few weeks ago but there was nothing nearby to do. When the supermarket ones went live there were quite a few near me so I was going to do some but I hadn't confirmed my email address - I had never received an email asking to do this. Typically they were shut over the weekend so missed the jobs, now I've got another email saying that they sent my verification again but I haven't had it! Not in junk either! not making this brilliantly easy at the minute!

How come they advertise the spots as £5 but then when I come to withdraw my money they convert it from $. Seems a little bit unfair as I was supposed to get like £10 but have come out with £6 something.

Re: Streetspotr, free smartphone app that pays you for doing simple, fun tasks

I had a notification yesterday flash up saying that I had been paid $5 for a task that I'd done. Mini panic but when I logged into Paypal the payment was in sterling and so was the payment confirmation e-mail.

Sounds like a mistake mate. I'd take a risk and say, if you emailed them about it they will probably sort it out right with you :)
