Question / Discussion Problems with Prolific

Anyone having trouble with Prolific. Keep getting an error code when try and access Studies?

Don't understand it.

The only messages I get are to say that the study is full, that I am not eligible but my account is in good order, or that there are only so many people who can take part at one time.

Did you do that thing a while back where you had to confirm some personal details to keep participating? That is all I can think of.

Don't understand it.

I've had similar in the past - think it comes up with an error message and some sort of code like SU0C. Try logging out then back in again. Worked for me.

I had the same and it didn't like my IP, rebooted the router and all ok, also try on a phone while on data that seems to work too

I would suggest using private mode and seeing if you can get in

I have this with a different survey site, works great on Chrome, on Safari I get a cached message and even clearing things my end hasn't fixed it.

what do you mean private mode?

I still cant log in on the pc, only my phone. There are not many studies by phone so im losing money now.

have you turned your router off and on to see if you get a new WAN IP address?

I can't do this. I'm using a public computer. Always been OK up until recently though.

you will be a bit stumped then if the IP is blocked on prolific system

Would there be any chance that somebody else could be using Prolific in the same area as you? I had an issue when I did one at work once and received an error message and it was because another person who I introduced to Prolific was using it at the same time on the desk opposite.

prolific can easy block ip addresses to their system, you will never know if you are on a public internet connection, more than likely blacklisted

Yeah some of their automated systems black list Ips you get dreaded codes. I had that for week or so many years back. It seemed to resolve itself. I can only think there was concern they were getting multiple responses from one ip address although some studies do limit that.

Might be a shared Ip address? Don't know if it's possible to change ip or use alternative ip address somehow such as payg sim. You only need to get past the survey start and then change ip back to your normal network.

might be worth contacting them are setting up a new account, what is your completion ratio? can you try another free wifi to access them on?
