This doesn't sound right to me, Although maybe I have misunderstood.

Yesterday you reported A total of 602 deaths were registered: 582 Covid and 20 non covid.

Today its 721 total deaths: 674 Covid and 47 non covid.

So are you saying in the last two days only 67 people have been recorded of dying from something other than Covid?? Can't be right. Where are these figures coming from?

It was taken from the Manchester Evening News live daily feed on COVID19.

OK. Think I have sussed it now. The non Covid deaths must relate only to Birmingham and the Midlands while the tested positive deaths are for the whole of England.

Vaccine question - this 12 week gap between the gabs

this is a “we are being careful with the supply” issue so say in March when we have a lot more stock and other types of vaccine will they reduce that gap?

Figures on vaccinations released by NHS England

Nearly 20,000 second doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered between December 29 and January 3, NHS England said.

Some 19,981 second Pfizer jabs were given as of Sunday, which was before the rollout of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine. All vaccinations given before December 29 were of first doses.

Overall, 308,541 people received a jab in the week ending Sunday January 3, taking the total number vaccinated in England since the rollout began to 1,112,866.

Of those, 661,224 (60 per cent) were given to people aged 80 or over, the health service said.

I was delighted to read this morning that 92 year old national treasure Lionel Blair has had his second dose.

However, I'd quite like my 84 year old diabetic mum with a lung condition to have her first.

I hope things will move fast now. Just had a long chat on the phone with a friend who has an elderly parent in a care home with active cases. Are residents and staff being prioritised? It wouldn't appear so.

Don't get me wrong, I'm genuinely delighted for the people whose risk is being rapidly diminished with their first jab. I think I'm just more nervous about the dangers now than I have been since March of last year when we both had Covid.

I had a text to say which centre my 90 year old dad will go to and jabs start on the 13th. We will be contacted with his time and day. Hopefully it will be within a couple of weeks.

That's amazing and gives me a bit of hope. I hope I don't have to get mum far - she also has agoraphobia and OCD, and has a compulsion to touch surfaces...not great at the moment.
