So today we have gone from “big numbers of up to a million jabs a day from next week” to “numbers will be lower for the next few weeks due to supply problems”. What changed in the space of 24 hours?
We aren’t getting 5m from India seems to be all it is !??

Madness. It seems like not everyone will get a vaccination, after all, it might be somewhere down the line - these reports aren't helping. I don't know what is going on anymore haha!

basically, everything has been shoved back a bit by 4 weeks so they can concentrate on the 2nd dose but then (effectively) in May we will get the 5m we were due from India in April

Moderna to deliver first UK COVID-19 vaccines in April, schedules on track

if these are coming in April they are going to HAVE to go into new arms for the under 50s as you can't mix and match vaccines

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has announced there are two reasons for the delays to the UK's vaccine supply.

Some 1.7 million doses have been delayed because the batch needs to be retested to ensure its stability.

And, as we alluded to earlier, there is also a delay in the supply of doses from the Serum Institute of India - the world's largest vaccine manufacturer.

He told the Commons: "In April, supply is tighter than this month and we have a huge number of second doses to deliver. During April, around 12 million people, including many colleagues in this House, will receive their second dose.

"These second doses cannot be delayed as they have to be delivered within 12 weeks of the first dose.

"In the last week, we've had a batch of 1.7 million doses delayed because of the need to retest its stability.

"Events like this are to be expected in a manufacturing endeavour of this complexity and this shows the rigour of our safety checks."

The move to hybrid working after the pandemic is growing.
The Nationwide building society has indicated that it does not intend to force people to return to the office if they have been successfully able to work from home during the pandemic.
Oil giant BP has told office-based staff they can spend two days a week working from home after lockdown restrictions ease.
And banks HSBC and Lloyds are among many other companies looking into split working arrangements.
Earlier this month the boss of IWG, which provides office space across the world, told the BBC he expected hybrid working "to become the norm" for many companies.
Mark Dixon said: "It works for companies, because it's a lot cheaper. It's also much, much better for the environment."

I honestly think the city Center is just going to look so different post pandemic!

City centres continually evolve though. As a child I remember Liverpool City centre being mainly large department stores - M and S, Lewis's, Debenhams, Woolworths, George Henry Lees, T J Hughes, Blacklers and their amazing Christmas grotto, Owen Owen, Hendersons, C and A, Littlewoods, and I am sure there were more.

Now we still have M and S and T J Hughes open , and Debenhams and John Lewis opened in Liverpool 1. There are a lot of smaller shops and it is possible that will change again over the next few years.

Local shopping areas are the same. Our main road used to have a butcher, fish monger, bakers, small general store, chemist, chandlers, 2 fruit and veg places, wallpaper shop, small clothes shop and others I have forgotten. Most went when Sainsburys opened.

Leeds city centre seems to be turning more and more into pedestrian only and with random city parks popping up

Evolve is one way of saying it. Get shitter is another way.

People want different things. I loved some of the department stores but younger ones don't want to walk through about 6 departments to get what they want. Individual shoe shops or casual wear shops are preferred. Young Mr Grace may not like it - not referring to you Homie :) - but a lot of them have had their day.

actually i agree, at least a number of their physical stores

Retailers like John Lewis who go for 'no expense spared' type outlets building these amazing shops that are now empty as sin are going to be the ones who struggle as their rents must be HUGE

The thing is most of them are popular. I use Next as often as M and S and when the shops reopened after the first lockdown, Primark seemed to have the biggest queues.
