OK, maybe the title sounds like i'm going to rob someone or something...I'm not! Trust me. I just thought i'd use that word because that's what it feels like when your trying to earn decent income online. Anyway, this will be my journal. To be brief, I am a single mother of one and i am currently not in work. I have a weight-loss blog online www.mamasjourneytoslimncurvy.co.uk ( Brought the domain today. Yay!) so currently building that. Looking into Amazon Affiliates and will add products to the blog once i've finally worked it out.
Received an email from Lionbridge and i will be working for them as a Internet Crowd Worker. Need to take a look around their portal and make sure i have inputted everything correctly.
I don't have a smartphone, so any apps that you guys mention will be lost on me I really need to update my crappy Nokia! So yeah, that's as far as I've got really.
Any tips are welcomed.

Just started working for Lionbridge tonight. Already seen quite a few explicit sites ... Wowsa! 1 dollar per click tho ? I'll be there forever . Any tips?

less than minimum wage i think. Bit put off to be fair cuz its near enough zero per task.

I'm not an assessor though. It the assessors that get paid per hour. Crowd workers get paid per task. I will hang on and try see it through.

I just did a google search i think. I think there is a Lionbridge Uk too. I didn't have to do any exams for this and it was a quick process.

I would but i'm not allowed to talk about pay etc ... Crap i know but you can lose your job over it. You can lose your job if the quality of your work is not to their standard either. So not sure how long i will last lol

Morning,

The traffic on my website is increasing slighlty - Happy! I decided i am going to add a page to my blog that is dedicated to moms who have had success with losing weight after having kids. I posted on the MyFitnessPal forum and a few girls are interested in submitting their story plus before & after photos.

I'm going to do 2 hours of Lionbridge a day ( Mon- fri) as that will amount to the 10 hours they require. ' Potential Earnings' is what worries me about LB, as i could do loads of work and only get quarter of the pay. I'll just have to see how it goes this month.

Today, i'm going to do some research on fitness affiliate programs & what products to feature on my site.

There are lots of affiliate programs around - have a look at commission junction (cj.com), linkshare.com, affiliatewindow.com

Also search google for "[product name/company name] + affiliate"

Do you know about keyword research and how it can help to get traffic to your site? It is very simple, but makes a huge difference. Let me know if you want to know where to get access to some free tools.

A few little pieces of advice would be:

1. Don't scattergun your posts - ie, 1 post on tread mills, 1 post on slimming pills, 1 post on exercise videos. I would find a product or product category and write a few different posts related to that before moving on to the next subject - I think this will improve your chances of getting good rankings as Google then thinks you are an expert on the subject rather than someone that knows a little bit about everything.

2. Make your posts at least 600 words long and don't leave the visitor needing anymore information before deciding whether to buy or not.

3. You can provide links to the amazon product review pages as an alternative to the buying link. So, "buy these slimming pills at 20% discount here" is one aff link. "If you are still undecided, check out these other excellent user reviews here" would be another link. Both links trigger your amazon cookie.

4. You can also embed other people's YouTube videos into your own posts - many people don't realise that the YouTube terms and conditions make this possible. Obviously, make sure they are good videos. I do this a lot. It prevents "YouTube leak" as they call it - this is all part of getting all of the necessary info on your post to save your visitor trawling the internet themselves.

Sounds like you are working really hard and making progress.
Well done.

Oh, and why don't you put the url of your blog site in your forum signature - it helps people to find it and you might get some extra traffic.

Thank you TheRewardGuy for the advice , i've taken it on board. I am aware of the keyword research tool , i used the google one.
I posted on the myfitnesspal forum and had a great response, so now i've added a new page to my blog now. Though, one girl said that i should compensate the girls for featuring them, so trying to work out how i do that as i'm not making any money from it currently. Another girl who posted her story, has a blog too , so offered to do a link exchange.

Try Jaaxy.com for keyword searches as well - includes non-Google data and you get 30 free searches.
I have an affiliate link but I won't post it here as the 30 free searches can generate enough content ideas for 12 months so no reason for you to upgrade to Pro version (it produces about 20-30 keyword results for each query you type in) - so upto about 900 possible keywords from your 30 free searches.

PS. I didn't realise that "thigh gap" was such a big issue

Decided i'm going to chuck Lionbridge, because all i've read is nothing but bad reviews. I don't like that they put ' Potential earnings' in your earnings report. It;s like they milk what they want out of you and pay you what they want to pay you, not what you deserved to be paid. The job is tedious, so not for everyone. Glad i tried it though , otherwise i would have been forever curious.

Yeah exactly, i can dedicate more time to my blog and also work on creating voice-over demos for peopleperhour. Just waiting on my usb microphone.
I'm get a constant flow of traffic to the blog , so hopefully heading in the right direction.
